TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY COUNCILMAN JERMAINE REED STARTS REELECTION FUNDRAISING WITH HELP FROM CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER!!!

Kansas City incumbents have an overwhelming advantage over challengers given this town's parochial and pathologically polite approach to politics.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY COUNCILMAN JERMAINE REED STARTS HIS REELECTION FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN WITH A POWERFUL SHOW OF SUPPORT FROM CONGRESSMAN EMANUEL CLEAVER!!!

An upcoming "special guest" appearance and sign of support is important for a lot of reasons . . .

Yes, racist d-bags . . . Along with some GOP conservatives (with more reasoned criticism) have a lot of longstanding gripes against Congressman Cleaver but these same folks might also acknowledge that the former Mayor's endorsement in the 3rd District is EPIC and a MAJOR MILESTONE when it comes to reelection planning this early out of the gate.

Moreover, Councilman Reed's reelection chances were in question even a few weeks ago but this sign of support from on high should sway opinions of not only the political elite in the 3rd District but also among the rank and file activists, clergy and neighborhood leaders.

Credit where it's due . . . As we start to see Kansas City politicos position themselves for reelection, Councilman Reed is displaying IMPRESSIVE signs of 3rd District support that should give his critics and challengers a moment of pause. This high ranking special guest appearance also demonstrates that so much of Councilman Reed's schmoozing with the Congressional Black Caucus and bringing home the bacon for the Green Impact Zone might not have been popular with Kansas City residents overall but certainly helped to garner the support of the most influential voice in Kansas City's 3rd District. Surprise: Sometimes effective politics doesn't make everybody happy.

Take a look at the invite that confirms support for Councilman Reed from Congressman Cleaver.

The good time @ Gates sounds delicious and if I can find $100 in my piggy bank (doubtful) I'll totally bring back some pix.

DEVELOPING . . .

Wake up and smell the corruption.
You don't like the term nigger? Tough shit.
Political correctness is a disease propagated by Marxist assholes.

Whatever race a politician or business leader is:
If they are corrupt, inept, criminal, etc., we must vote them out, insist they be held accountable, insist they be criminally investigated and prosecuted for their corruption, etc.

It's past time for a serious campaign to vote steaming piles of shit like Cleaver out of office.

    March 2011 KC Star

"Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, former two-term Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri released the following statement:

“Many have asked why I do not endorse municipal candidates in my role as Congressman. As I move into my fourth term, dozens of mayor’s races in cities throughout the Fifth District have occurred. While I am always happy to meet with candidates for office, I have told each personally, including all of this year’s candidates for Mayor of Kansas City, that I will not endorse any candidate. My three predecessors in Congress maintained neutrality and pledged to work with whomever the voters chose to lead them. I have steadfastly followed that tradition, even when very good friends happen to be on the ballot. I know that when I was running for Mayor I did not want a Member of Congress trying to sway an election. I have followed the example of Alan Wheat, Karen McCarthy and their predecessor, the legendary Dick Bolling, who all avoided endorsements in local races.”

“I am a Kansas City resident, and on Election Day my vote counts no more than any of my fellow Kansas Citians. I am proud to cast my vote for whom I think will best lead our city, and I will do so in the privacy of the voting booth.”

    Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II"

  29. If any of them get pressed about how they feel about gay people and more importantly how they will represent them they will lose. If any of them get pressed on how they will represent women's rights issues and how they will represent them they will lose. These issues will come up because there are those of us who will make sure they will. Be ready. Be very ready. They will lie. Because they are liars and they are good at lying. But just like 9:06 proved there's a lot in print and on tape. It's going to get real interesting.

  32. He will get voted out no matter who the endorsement come from. This loser should take time off to reflect. The only reason Cleaver endorses Reed is because he's diverted PIAC and City funding to the GIZ where Reed was given (not earned) his start.

  34. This is just something else to add to the long list of disappointments of Cleaver. I think this is his last term as Congressman. So, he probably doesn't care what he does. Either way, its a bad look.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Nobody killed Chuck. He's free to come back whenever he wants. He's just keeping a low profile and it's clear that NOBODY likes this move from Cleaver.
