Protestors Picket Paul Ryan @ Benedictine

Congressman Paul Ryan's speech at a Kansas Catholic College proved exceptionally divisive over the weekend.

Catholics were divided on the appearance given that deep cuts due to GOP austerity measures clashed with their conscience.

National Catholic Reporter: Paul Ryan's commencement address at Kansas Catholic college draws protest

And here's the local round-up from TV newsies . . .

Record Number of Benedictine Grads Hear Ryan Commencement Address

Protesters Meet Ryan at Benedictine

Sadly, the build-up to this story created a lot of expectations but the event was kind of an anti-climax in much the same manner that grads entering the job market will face similar disappointment.

  2. There are no pictures of the protestors. How many were there? 7? The press wants to show protests against conservatives no matter how dumb, small or dirty (occupy wall street) they may be.

  3. Wait till the bottom falls out then talk about "protesters".

  5. I work at Benedictine. If there were 10 protestors,I'd be surprised, and, well "moveon.org"?? Those ragamuffins wasted their time. Parents AND graduates loved the guy, loved his speech, waited to have their picture taken with him.
And, the NCR story, written before the event took place, had a factual error.Benedictine would LOVE to have 2,000 students, but we don't have the space for that many; we love our 1800+ student population, thank you.

  7. 4:55, why, did you miss one??

Benedictine is a great school. Steve Minnis, the president, is a wonderful leader and has done tremendous work for the school.

I'm sure Paul Ryan gave a great speech. Those who heard him had a great opportunity.

  8. And now you know why the Catholic church is dying.

Even the fake Jesus and statues they worship would slap the shit out of this corporate shill.

  9. Remember the Days Before America's Niggeredization said...
I want to thank the Jackson County Historical Society, and Jackson County Director of Parks and Recreation Michele Newman for agreeing to host a celebration of the Confederacy and a lament for the Niggeredization of America by hosting a memorialization to spit on the memory of Order Number 11 and its horrid attack on White culture and pride. Those who treasure the memory of Traditional America and want to see it restored, please come and rally at:
