WELCOME TO THE KANSAS CITY BASKETBALL PARKING CRISIS OF 2013!!!

Once again the promise of "economic impact" brings Kansas City to a standstill . . .

TODAY DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY PARKING AND NAVIGATION WILL BE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE THANKS TO SCREWED UP SPORTS PRIORITIES THAT HAVE YET TO PAY OFF!!!

Example:

Streets surrounding the Sprint Center and Power and Light District in downtown Kansas City will start to close on Monday in advance of Wednesday's Big 12 Tournament.

As always, the financial game from Golden Ghetto fun times is always exaggerated and hyped as City Hall keeps promising subsidy for development pet projects that haven't really panned out.

DEVELOPING . . .

You are such a whiner. You don't even go downtown, supposedly. What difference does it make to you?
I work domwntown and I'm fine with all the hustle and bustle. That's the way it should be.

Wait till wednesday. Watch i-35 tkc. it's going to be brutal and might be backed up all the way to Merriam.

7:19, exactly. Whine when there's no one downtown, and whine when it's full of people.

I also work downtown (north end), and I ride the bus. Routes will be changed slightly around Sprint, and it will take maybe and extra minute. Or two.

Who cares about the big 12 anymore. That conference is dying as far as relevance in sports is going. My big red got out and we are much happier in the big 10. At least that is a real conference full of real teams. The big 12 has 2 or 3 teams decent in each sport and the rest are jokes. football had a decent Kansas State team this year and the rest of the teams were worthless. Texas and Oklahoma are falling off the map and the rest of the teams amount to about 6 wins anyway. In basketball they have a couple of decent teams and the rest are turds. That conference lost four large state schools with huge fan bases in the last couple of years and gained virtually nobody. TCU wanted to be there but they brought basically nothing to the conference and West Virginia only went there because the SEC rejected them. The big 12 = a once mighty conference that will eventually go the way of the Big East.

9:58 = another whiner
No more whining in this town. Grown men acting like pussies need to move to Arizona, a state that welcomes self righteous douche bags.

Will this event pay off the $12 million kc owes every year on the p&l district?

Didn't think so.

11:41 = whiner
Trying to diminish the value of the tournament by bringing up the failure of the P&L district is a classic whiner move. Mistakes were made with the P&L district, no doubt. But real men pick themselves up and look forward. Whiners wallow in misery.

What a concept. Build Sprint Center and then close the streets all around it inconveniencing every tax payer who ever thought the salad bowl was a great idea.

Inconvenienced? Poor baby! You do know there are more ways to get downtown than Grand, don't you?
