Murguia for Mayor Endorsement Announcement
Today we were grateful to be joined by our friends in labor, state, county, and municipal elected office as well as community activists from every corner of Wyandotte County. The message delivered was clear; Ann is the people’s choice for Mayor of Wyandotte County. Her ability to work, with federal, state and local officials from both parties is unmatched, but it is her proven track record of reaching out to business, labor unions, non-profit and private sector organizations as well as citizens will allow her to continue moving Wyandotte County forward. Ann is a leader who understands what it takes to develop our communities and get things done for the people she serves.
This is proven in the showing of support today from:
Former Mayoral candidate and 1st District UG Commissioner Nathan Barnes
In addition to fellow elected officials:
33rd District State Representative Tom Burroughs , 37th District State Representative Stan Frownfelter, Wyandotte County Sherriff Donald Ash, Former Mayor Joe Steineger, 4th District UG Commissioner Terrance Maddox, 5th District UG Commissioner Mike Kane, 6th District UG Commissioner Angela Markley, 8th District UG Commissioner Butch Ellison, Former State Senator Mark Gilstrap, Former UG Commissioner at-large Don DeSure, Former UG Commissioner at-large Mike Gilstrap, Former BPU Board Member Tom Lynch, Former State Representative and UG Commissioner, Elmer & Bonnie Sharp, Former UG Commissioner Vida Monday, Former Commissioner JJ “Doc” Swanson, Former UG Chief Legal Counsel Hal Walker, Bonner Springs Councilman Jack Knight, and Bonner Springs Councilman George Cooper.
As well as businesses and community activists:

And our friends in organized labor:
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 124, International Association of Firefighters Local 64, Tri-County Labor Council, Heavy Constructor Laborers Local 663, and Allied Trades, and Fraternal Order of Police 4.
Ann Murguia is the candidate with the skills and the visions to truly move the city and county forward. What is at stake in the election is more than just electing a new Mayor, but it is the opportunity to move Kansas City and Wyandotte County into the future by having a real plan to invest in smart economic development, improved infrastructure, stronger schools and local services, and increasing the opportunities and quality of life of all who live in the region. It’s about not only expanding on the success we’ve had, but having a legitimate plan for the future. Ann’s plan is centered on creating world class jobs, lower property taxes, economic development and new infrastructure.

Did the good Dr. Rev. make this list?
I think not.
Former, former, former . . . the old guard is on the rise - Ann Murguia, taking Wyandotte County forward into the 1970s!
Mark's two biggest names behind him are, "formers" 12:26... I'm failing to see the strength in your case.
********SNORE********
Looks like folk think a chicken in hand trumps the promise of three, which does not bode well for Holland.
Booo...remember former Mayor Marinovich did not endorse Joe Reardon, maybe because the Reardon Name was associated with the old KCK Democratic Machine.
Am I missing something? This woman looks white.
1:21 you're missing a lot. Never mind, it won't help to explain.
Nobody calls themselves "hispanic" anymore. Time for you to grow up.
Never before has TKC gone GAGA over highlighting a candidate!
Cynical readers would wonder if it has anything to do with one Latino blogger supporting another Latino.
Isn't this Alonzo's home town?
If so where are his smartass remarks about it?
Or Glazers for that matter since his business is there.
Or is the subject way over the head of the two idiots?
Never before has TKC gone GAGA over highlighting a candidate!

You new to this place Holland?
TKC posts press releases all the time.
Is it to soon to say I'd like to fuck Ann Murguia in the ass and then come all over her face?
Will Crystal feel she's being dumped?
WTF?
What school did this candidate and Lara Moritz go to in order to perfect that perfectly fake smile?
True dat.
Hey, Latinon: You all working on the next racial identifier du juor yet? When "latino" somehow becomes offensive, what's next? (See: Colored People/Black/African-American/People of Color lunacy).
Beaneros, perhaps? People of frijitos?
Look, Chicken Annie is nothing but a bully that does not think sitting on a council funding committee that is in charge of directing funds to the organization she is a paid to work for is not a conflict of interest. If that is not a conflict of interest, I don't know what is. She should have recused herself from the funding decisions for her organization, clear and simple.
Ann Murguia is an honest, responsible, energetic leader who took the time to find out from the Ethics Administrator when she can participate and when she should recuse herself. The Ethics Administrator’s instructions in every instance were that she can serve as a UG Commissioner and keep her day job, just like many other UG Commissioners, as long as she doesn’t vote when the specific matter has to do with her organization. She has carefully followed this advice. Choose the candidate you think will serve the community, but there’s no need for unfounded name-calling.
Annie has a very impressive list of Wyandotte County’s most corrupt citizens backing her. Every one mentioned has been sucking on the public treasury for decades. Some choice, Dr. Rev. Scam Artist or Mrs. Entitlement. The criminals that run this hell hole wouldn’t have it any other way. Ethics in KCK, really? Name calling indeed.
Murguia is a bully that will reward her cronies. Met her several times, never could find anything to like about her.
OK everyone, remember another female candidate who first ran for mayor, pissed off everybody in office including the mayor and people did not think much of her either....Ann is just like Carol when she ran, strong and willing to stand up to everything that was right....Conflict of interest....Mark brings this up and pushed it through....How about his Church the good minister he is...taking $72,000 from a non-profit---tax dollars to run head start out of his church...and taking $24,000 a year in rent...or voting on issues that his wife happens to sit on the board, or works for ....with City Vision....The problem is both are doing great things for the community...neither are a conflict...but Mark wants to be Mayor. How about Joe, waiting to Make his announcement to run....then endorsing Mark...weill planned you say....well that way Pam and his staff can keep their job at city hall. How about those cell phones issued by the city and the computers, and hours during the day when Joe's staff should be working on city's business and not Mark's election....Call it what it is!!!! Ann is hard to work with if you just want to sit back and let everyone do it for you, and she fights hard to get things done...when you only stand up when everything is easy...WOW that is really hard. Ask the preacher what the Bible says:::Ye who has not sin shall cast the first stone...Sounds like alot of stones being cast by the Camp of Mark Holland....
Bully? LOL. Look in the mirror, 12:35. When you're done gazing at your reflection (this assumes you cast one), choke on your spittle.
You're welcome.
In regards to her ancestry, she not Hispanic. Her ethnicity is not important to me, however, she does seem to want people to think she is Mexican. Her legal name is "Ann Brandau-Marguia," but she seems to forget this fact when she is busy pandering to the Hispanic population. I just a got a mailer from her campaign that has nothing but her and some Mexicans. I find this pandering to be quite dishonest.
Why doesn't she focus on all the citizens of wyco, not just the ones who she thinks will help her win the election. Last I knew, this was not a hispanic/mexican county
