TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY AD HOC GROUP AGAINST CRIME PETITIONS GOVERNMENT FOR MORE GUN CONTROL!!!
As Kansas City endures yet another weekend of rampant gun violence, take a look at what a local, longstanding anti-violence organization is doing to combat what they think is the root cause of our homicide rate.
JUST RELEASED THIS WEEKEND THE KANSAS CITY AD HOC GROUP "MOTHERS IN CHARGE" COMMITTEE RELEASED A FORMAL PETITION FOR GREATER GUN CONTROL!!!
A mission statement of this petition released via social media:
"The goal of this petition is to urge the United States Government to produce legislation that limits access to guns.
While a national dialogue is critical, laws are the only means in which we can reduce the number of people murdered in gun related deaths."
The petition was directed at these local politicos as well:
Sen. Claire McCaskill
Sen. Roy Blunt
Congressman Sam Graves
Take a look at the petition in its entirety:
To start, here's what the "Mothers In Charge" committee of the Ad Hoc group wants . . .
Support Federal Legislation that:
1. Requires Universal Background Checks
2. Bans Assault Weapons
3. Restricts The Size Of Gun Magazines
4. Regulates Gun Shows
5. Supports Funding For Mental Health Initiatives
6. Stresses Gun Safety
Obviously, the issue is up for debate but notice at least one influential institution on Kansas City's urban core arguing for increased limits on the 2nd Amendment.
