TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! ANNOUNCING THE LATEST KCPD TWEET ALONG FOR FRIDAY!!!

KCPD takes their communication efforts to social media once again tomorrow . . . Here's the announcement.

Check it:

Come on the Kansas City Police “tweet along” Friday

Kansas City Police will once again give the public a first-hand look at what happens on an officer’s typical shift in their tweet-along Friday.

From approximately 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 15, a member of the department’s Media Unit will ride along with officers in the Metro Patrol Division and tweet everything that happens on the social media site, Twitter. The public is invited to follow along at twitter.com/kcpolice. The event will use the hashtag #kctweetalong.

Any information that could endanger someone – such as victims’ names or exact addresses – will not be tweeted.

KCPD has done multiple tweet-alongs since April 2012 to give the public a better idea of what officers face on a given shift. With more than 20,000 followers, Kansas City Police are the fifth-most followed major city police department in the United States on Twitter, according to the International Association of Chiefs of Police Center for Social Media.

I thought we had a news agencies to cover crime? Now we have news agencies and the cops writing about crime. I thought the police were suppose to solve crime not tweet or blog about it.
