"St. Patrick's Day is a celebration descendants of Irish immigrants and is a holiday that has been embraced widely in America. Kansas City's celebration began early this year with the annual St. Pat's Senior Ball, held Thursday, March 14, at the Cristo Rey Kansas City High School, in Kansas City, Missouri. Dublin-born folk singer Eddie Delahunt was a featured performer at the event. He performed "The Wild Colonial Boy," a traditional Irish--Australian ballad. Delahunt and other celebrants spoke about being Irish in Kansas City, and being Irish for a day."
