What is the Y monthly rate nowadays? When I left the Y a few years ago, it was $85. Walking at the mall is free.

they don't even charge a monthly rate. They want a cut of your income.

Isn't the lot where the new Y is going up the same one where UMB demo'ed a beautiful old building just a few years ago?

Hopefully they'll have gay and hetero steam rooms. Nothing worse than the smell of anal while you're winding down after a workout.

I give it one day till the "urban" youth destroy the place. What a terrible idea. Place will look like Central High School in a year.

Closing a facility that was built in 1998? WTF? They're just diverting money so they can build "The Big One" so they can have bragging rights for "helping people". I agree with 8:28. Give it three months to reek of urine in the hallways, six months before the first shooting, a year before people who are paying full freight will flee elsewhere once their memberships expire. Guess they can go to the ancient, drafty Y in Prairie Village, where they won't need to pay at least a year's worth of normal membership just to park their cars downtown.

We don't want nor need the YMCA downtown. There are private fitness centers that do a great job of meeting the community's needs.

YEah urban youth will ruin it just like the ruined the famous and beautiful plaza and all those nice condos and stuff downtown.

Fucking suburban trash. Go quiver with irrational fear in beigeburg and leave the real world to adults who can handle it.
