STL Biz Journal considers the recent Kansas City attempt to lure the Missouri GOP convention for 2016 and does a quick calculation.
"The Republicans want a city with 15,000 convention hotel rooms, and Kansas City has more than 26,000. With 38,000 hotel rooms, should St. Louis try to make a bid?"
Now, the Kansas City effort is mostly nostalgic and wants to return to the glory days of the GOP in 1976 which also coincides with this town's last hurrah when it comes to political relevance.
However . . . Consider that the GOP is going to be DESPERATE to lure the Latino vote and Dallas starts to seem like a much better option and far more practical than Missouri's political wasteland.

Let's see. Winning a bid to have the convention in KC is going to cost the taxpayers some money. What would the advantages be for the taxpayers? We haven't recovered yet from all the money wasted on the all-star game. And the only benefit KC got was the outfit at Downtown Airport that sells the fuel for the corporated jets made a lot of money,
