SHOW-ME THE FATE OF MISSOURI RED-LIGHT CAMERAS IN QUESTION!!!

STL Post-Dispatch: Red-light cameras debated before Missouri appeals court

Money quote . . .

"It’s conceivable that the court could strike down each of the ordinances and make it nearly impossible for municipalities to issue tickets on red-light cameras, which are operated by private companies. But it’s equally plausible that the court would provide a mixed bag of decisions that together would better guide municipalities in drafting their ordinances and violation notices."

I find it appauling that these private companies are given complete access to privacy information, including address license numbers, and apparently police records that supply private information about citizens even though they have not been convicted of anything. If you got into someones computer system and grabbed that info you'd go to prison. If some one horses ass town wants to make a buck they sell your soul to any company that comes along with some horse ass idea on how to make a buck off traffic fines.

The real pisser is that the company is in Arizona and KC has absolutely NO legal jurisdiction over the company if one or more employees start peddling information. Smooth move KC!
