Problems Securing KCPD's New Pension Deal

An update from Jeff City and under the breath intolerance of local control: "KC leaders, uniquely, must still take their plan to Jefferson City for approval. It didn't take long this year for their seemingly settled pension deal to get unsettled."

" the department has answered to a five-person board — the mayor and four people appointed by the governor."

At the end of the day the issues will get worked out. It's too important to Kansas City taxpayers, City leaders, and the members of the pension system. The state will approve the deal the deal and the system will be stronger for it. The work completed by everyone involved is important and should be approved by uninvolved state leaders.

The statement made by 12:07 clearer shows they are either someone who benefits in some way career wise or under the table from these changes. Most likely they are some FOP shlub desperate to gain any ounce of power they can. Unfortunately they are doing so by screwing the ones they are supposed to represent. If you read the whole article, it refers to the fact the changes were made through years of negotiation with the "union". Yet only five years ago the FOP claimed they could not uninize due to state law. I have never heard of that changing, so how are they suddenly a union? Answer: they are not. They are a group of idiots selling out their fellow officers for sweet positions within the department, where they continue to be worthless as far as crime control is concerned. Citizens beware. State control of the PD is a major pain for those in Jeff. City. If they are so opposed to local control that should tell you something. Also, since the "agreement" between the FOP and city, officers of all ages have been abandoning ship for greener pastures. And they are not being replaced. You thought response time was bad before? Just wait to see what is ahead.

1:19 obviously didn't study the material close enough and came to some erroneous conclusions. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

OR 1:19 is simply capable of seeing through the line of BS being promoted by the KCFOP leadership who seem to think they are smarter than everyone else in the city.

Yael is an idiot.

OR he is a scab that pretends to have his brother and sister's backs. Wait until city control comes and the commanders and non members don't have a word in the contract.
