"Five KC teens were shot at 3 a.m. at an All Gold Everything/March Madness Twerk Fest, which, according to the Star, "refers to dancing that emphasizes shaking the rear." I would suggest that having teens out at 3 a.m. "shaking the rear" is not primarily a gun problem."
Finally . . . Here's an ominous prediction from another Kansas City Insider.
"TKC, if you think this is bad. Just wait until the weather warms up. This is just the beginning of the so-called "Flash Mob" season and from what I can tell you given my interaction with schools, community centers and youth facilities. It's going to be bad. Very interesting on the Twerk Fests activities--agree with Cashill that the dancing at late/early hours is not a gun problem.

Mayor James says in the city where there’s violence there’s not much else.
“It’s not lost on me that a lot of these issues occur on the east side or out south where there is a scarcity of other things, movies, restaurants, jobs, education,” he said.
James said while the city hopes to expand its youth programs, it’s not enough. He says parents, churches, communities need to come together to be part of the solution.

Kansas City Mayor Sly James said he's looking for ways to keep young people safe.
ReplyDelete"I think when kids don't have options and they find themselves in these circumstances, I think things get totally out of hand," James said. "When I was on the Plaza, we had kids getting shot. I'm just tired of kids getting shot."
One plan he's proposed is to increase parking fines in Kansas City to help provide safe alternatives for young people to have fun on the weekends.
"The increase in parking fines might allow us a little bit more leeway in trying to expand our menu (of activities) a little bit, either in terms of length or depth," James said.
Guy needs to be kicked out of office. Hope his white overlords are happy.

It's a parenting problem, or lack thereof. Plain and simple. Black people simply will not take responsibility for themselves or their keeds. They rely on white people to provide everything for them. They should be the most upwardly mobile people on the planet because corporations are begging for educated black people and everything possible is given to them to make life easier. Many years back when riots were breaking out in virtually every major city Mayor Daley of Chicago gave out the order to his police to shoot to kill anyone engaged in rioting, or looting. While civil rights groups complained about the harsh rhetoric no one tried to find out of the mayor was serious. That same solution would work here.

I have many friends from towns smaller than that. There isn't a McDonalds, movie theater, nothing. Not even a Caseys. And yet they managed to get through life not shooting anybody. Amazing.
