Kansas City Doggie Obsession Continues!!!
This was a violent week in Kansas City . . .
Our murder count continued to climb.
On the Kansas side of the metro, double suicide and KCK urban core violence made for shocking headlines.
Increased assaults, shootings and property crime mark the journey in the warmer months for the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
Nevertheless . . .
A KANSAS CITY DOGGIE'S ASSAULT AND RECOVERY EARNED MORE HEADLINES THAN ANY HUMAN VICTIM!!!
Seriously, maybe a few times every year there will be some important insight into the human victims of gun violence but for the most part mainstream media just rattles off street names and numbers with a bit of demographic information that assures shut-in viewers . . .
On the other hand, the local news and (in fairness) local viewers can't get enough of a good doggie violence story.

Don't get me wrong . . . There's nothing wrong with concern for animals. In most cases it really just shows a kindhearted nature that also extends to humans.
But this obsession among some media watchers borders on sociopathic in that it promotes doggie concerns over so many Kansas City human problems.
