Kansas City Charity Climax: Questions In The Aftermath Of The JJ's Benefit Blowout!!!

The big Kansas City Charity blowout to benefit JJ's was last night.

TKC CELEBRATES THE CHARITY EFFORT BUT THERE ARE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS THAT REMAIN UNANSWERED IN THE AFTERMATH OF THE JJ'S BENEFIT!!!

Here's what the TKC Blog Community is asking . . .

1. Will There Be A Public Accounting Of How This Money Is Distributed?

When asking for cash from the public, it's not unfair to wonder how it will be spent - Especially when mainstream and citizen media were integral to spreading the word.

2. Will The "Kansas City Restaurant Community" Now Offer Support To Other Lower-Profile Workers In Need Of Support?

Again an AWESOME TKC TIPSTER reminds us that just a few blocks away there was a Chubby's employee shot and killed in front of his restaurant but his family received no offer support from this charity effort or any other for that matter. Also, every year there are dozens of restaurant local workers hurt and sometimes killed while doing (or on the way to) their jobs. This kid of support would help them as well.

3. Can We Please Stop Acting Like The Stupid Lost JJ's Dog Is A Cause For Public Concern?!?!

TKC agrees that support for JJ's workers is a great if non-descriptive cause . . . But the doggie obsession in this story of post-disaster relief is not only a sign that Kansas City would rather bestow their kindness on a mutt rather than people from the urban core but also a reflection of sociopathic tendencies that would offer empathy for animals above humans.

You gonna give a public accounting of the money raised and spent for your Louie Wright defense?

Ernesto said...

So we should love TKC as much as we love the JJ's disaster victims?

I think not.

Also, I am pretty sure TKC spent the $5 he received via paypal on a bus ticket to go beg at the nearest fire station.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well if TKC thinks the JJ benefit should have to open the books then yes only fair that TKC open it's books as well to show where, how much, and all to the public so that all readers can see what is going on here.

I mean fair is fair is it not?

Tony is also willing to put his name on his blog.

Who is making this request?

If you aren't willing to put YOUR NAME into your request for open records then you should probably shut up.

I gave 20 bucks to Tony's cause and I remember his post that promised that all of the money would be spent of the defense.

That's good enough for me.

What's interesting is that you've been reading this blog for a year and are talking about a case that was concluded 6 months ago.

Sounds like you need to get a life.

JJ's let off a little steam.

No the story reads;

"Here's what the TKC Blog Community is asking"

So Tony is just posting what he claims us bloggers are asking.

So 7:11 sounds like you need to get some reading glasses.

Oh by the way I see you posted your real name when making your probably false claim to money spent that you seem to be so proud of but at same time won't admit to.

Can we please just go ahead and admit that JJ's and their fundraiser was just a place for elitist middle class losers and social climbers?

It's getting tiresome to pretend that the place really represented Kansas City.

Of these " TKC Blog Community" people who are inquiring as to the proceeds of the benefit, how many gave money? How is it their business or concern?
There is a big difference between ferreting out misuse of public funds, tax money, etc. and sticking your nose where it doesn't belong, in the private lives of people. These racial/class motivated bullshit vendettas are becoming a common theme among Tony and his "community" of inquisitive unknowns. The constant badgering and guilt tripping of anyone white who Tony deems unconcerned over the plight of po folks seems a tad bit racist on tonys part. Tony is starting to sound like a cross between Alonzo and some of those unwashed tent city 99ers.

John Smith Of Topeka said...

Mark. You sound angry.

TKC is the only news outlet that even raises these questions.

I think there is room for skepticism about the JJ's benefit. But there needs to be some reason.

IF a person gives more than $100 then they should be able to ask for documentation. That puts some validity in concerns and might even help for tax deduction purposes.

That is a more productive suggestions than just bickering.

Anonymous said...

Well John I doubt the ones giving $100 are the ones doing the asking.

Anonymous said...

These comments are especially funny today. Horrible, but funny.

Anonymous said...

John, I'm not sure these "concerns" even crossed Tony's mind until his they were raised in his combox.

And I do agree that the people who gave deserve a public accounting.

Frankly, though, I don't give a damn because I also don't give a dime unless I know who I am giving it to and what it's going for.

Maybe every cent will be spent as promised, but there have been too many scam artists skimming too much off the top in every disaster fundraising appeal to NOT ask serious questions that should be answered in advance.

mark smith said...

Thats my point john, it's highly unlikely the people who are giving have expressed concern, otherwise they wouldnt have given in the first place. Agree wholeheartedly that TKC has spotlighted some real problems. I implied as much in my comment. Targeting people or sections of society simply because they care about dogs or a particular cause for example, is productive how? So again I ask, how is it anyones concern or business, what private individuals freely choose to give and to whom? I'll wait.......

+100

Anonymous said...

Mark, because there are hundreds, if not thousands, of scam artists raising funds after every disaster, and they will continue to profit off human suffering and divert money from those who need it until the public asks serious questions.

Now I am NOT saying this is necessarily a scam, but I will say this was first billed as helping JJ employees impacted by the fire, and now we learn about the Megan Cramer Scholarship Fund.

And yes, since they used the media to spread word about this event, the media should also ask for an accounting of the money raised.

Anonymous said...

I knew about the Megan Cramer Scholarship Fund.

Just because it appears to have flew past you really doesn't change anything.

I am sure you didn't donate a damn dime so in short STFU!

Anonymous said...

So you know all about the scholarship fund? Hey, there is still time for me to give.

So tell me what I would be giving to. Where is this scholarship going? Who will administer it? What are the criteria for the "artists" to benefit from it?

Oops. I'm sorry. Apparently I have no right to ask questions of any "charity" fund until AFTER I have given to it.

Enough! you have proven how stupid you are.

Real smart people just contact Friends of JJ's and ask them all these questions instead of coming here and looking real fucking dumb.

You wasn't by chance the idiot who showed up last night being a loud mouth jerk and shown the door was you?

xalti said...

Seems like Mark Smith and John Smith are the smartest ones in here.

TO Mark:

"Targeting people or sections of society simply because they care about dogs or a particular cause for example, is productive how?"

I think because it shows everyone our priorities.

Some people agree with the dog search, other don't.

I don't see how they're doing any harm and it doesn't take away from anybody. So I have to respectfully disagree with Tony's stance.

To John:

You say that the accounting should be done but only for people who donate big?

I understand that premise but I think that assumes there is anything to hide.

The money donated to JJ's workers is going to a good cause.

If I donate, it will be online and I only hope that it will help. I don't want to burden the organization with my demands.

Anonymous said...

No legitimate organization raising funds for a worthwhile cause would consider it to be a "burden" to answer basic questions first.

Anonymous said...

The explosion probably scared one of the Plaza NIGGERS and now he'll be lining up to sue. You know, somebody needs to pay!!!

Anonymous said...

If you divive the money up each employee will end up with just about enough to buy a couple of weeks worth of groceries, pay a utility bill, do their laundry and buy gas to go look for a new job.Now we want to hire an auditing team?

Anonymous said...

So how much money was raised? According to The Star, 1,200 people showed up. If they dropped $100 each (conservative estimate), that's $120,000.

Sounds like a lot of groceries, utility bills, laundry and gas to me. And for people who really should have no trouble finding another job.

But then you also (possibly) got medical bills for the 15 people injured (that is, if the owner didn't provide his "family" with health insurance), and the Megan Cramer Foundation for the Arts.

Yep, that's lots of needs, so many in fact that they're probably still asking for money.

So who gets what? And when? And who decides?

mark smith said...

So call and ask them before you give. As for you xalti, you have a history of being a fan boy of Tony and his new scribe Glazer, so anything you say is suspect. I happen to like Tony, think he does some real good. That said, unlike you I happen to be honest enough to realize that Tony tends to zero in on anything he deems misguided or exclusionary. That would be a good thing, except his criteria is based on anytime middle class white people do something that isn't of benefit to anyone east of troost. To pretend otherwise is just plain dishonest. If you gave to JJ's without checking it out first then you might want to pick up the phone and check into it. If you didn't then your not really concerned about the money, you are just swinging from Tony's sack. To quote TKC "ewwww".

I care about dogs. I like fucking them.

Anonymous said...

Before the niggers made off with the $15,000 nobody cared where the donations to various causes went. Now that Tony has exposed the black community as a bunch of thieves He needs to offset that by slinging blame on the white people for their fundraiser. The only difference is that the white people are raising their OWN money, not a handout from the city. Since Jabba The Blogger has appointed himself the grand inquisiter its only fair that he shows that his closet is clean. I for one find it hard to believe that a grown man with no discernable job can live the lifestyle that Jabba does.

Anonymous said...

And yet you come back for more. If you're so unhappy with TKC, you can leave. I doubt anybody will care one way or another.

Anonymous said...

What? And leave all the fun of the daily bitching about red light cameras, the earnings tax, snow removal, pot holes, trash, the toy train, how whenever somebody gets killed on the east side it shows nobody in KC cares?

And where oh where can I possibly learn how to live my life now if I leave Glazer and his deeply philosophical musings culled from 50-year-old movies?

Thank you for the invitation to leave, but I think I'll stick around for my daily belly laughs.
