Critics lamented that this was just a reelection dry-run campaign for the County Exec . . .
On the other hand . . .
In the aftermath of a week where Kansas City recorded 7 homicides at least some public information on a tip line and a few billboards and placards were a visible sign that the JaxCo Exec understood the consequences of increasing crime on the ground level. Since then Kansas City's homicides have continued but at least slowed their pace.
