TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! RESIDENTS RAGE OVER KANSAS CITY SNOW PLOW STRATEGY FAIL!!!

Once again, TKC BLOG COMMUNITY news and discussion this morning hits the mainstream media later in the day . . .
Check it:
KANSAS CITY RESIDENT OUTCRY OVER SIDE STREETS THAT AREN'T BEING PLOWED IS EXPLODING!!!!
Even worse . . .
THE "ONE PASS" KANSAS CITY SNOW PLOW STRATEGY HAS FAILED LOCAL STREETS AND ANGERED VOTERS!!!
It seems that Mayor Sly and some members of City Staff are just trying to game the GPS system and really getting the streets clean wasn't a concern for Friday.
Check the mainstream follow-up that confirms TKC BREAKING NEWS . . .
Fox4: Plowing policy leaves some peeved
KCTV5: Residential streets still messy Friday
We'll have power rankings hopefully tomorrow because right now there are more than a few members of mainstream media trying to spin public outcry instead of simply reporting that Kansas City isn't satisfied with snow removal or the leadership of Mayor Sly James during the Snow State Of Emergency.
DEVELOPING . . .

Hope this KC complaint gets heard over all the cheering.
A Streetcar On Every Street Will End These Complaints
With all his bitching about snow removal, I hope Tony has had time to shovel off his mother's walk and driveway.
Of course, he probably blames that on the city as well.
He could, of course, provide some help instead of constantly complaining. Show us a city of similar size with similar street miles to plow who does a much better job with snow removal, and tell us how much they budget.
McGurk shut up!
Funk wins.
Makes us seem like rubes/suburban crybabies.
Shut up Sly crony. The fact is that your Mayor made a lot of big promises he couldn't keep. Sly let us down and he isn't the reformer that he promised. He should resign.
You guys are sad. Its embarrassing to live here when people are whining about the city not plowing every street during an 11 inch snowfall. Jesus H. you guys need to get out into the real world a little. and Overland Park ain't it...
Streets still messy the morning after a major snow storm?
Wow, what an ignorant f*cking post.
Tony, why don't you get off your f*cking ass and try your hand at a real job.
Oh, and before you get a big head about this clusterfuck of a blog, just be assured I get more traffic in a day than this ugly blog gets in a month.
Grow up.
All you need to do to get the streets cleared is give every nigger on the east side a snow shovel and promise them a $100.00 rock when the job is done.
The only thing more sad than the complaints about the lack of snow removal from the public are the excuses coming from elected officials as to why they can't seem to fulfill their campaign promises or the obligations of the office (it's too hard, it's too big, there's too much, it's too costly, blah, blah blah).
I read somewhere this blog gets 20,000 unique hits a day?
People, and TKC, please! KCMO has 6,400 miles of road. That's THOUSANDS. In a snowstorm such as we've had, with snow falling up to 2" per hour, there is just no way every street is going to be plowed and passable. It's not going to happen. You can blame the mayor, council, 311 call takers, the plow drivers or any other City employee but if you expected plowed streets with snow like this, you had unrealistic expectations.
There has been no plowing on the north/south streets south of 75th and north of 85th in the Waldo area so .... McGurk do not send the checks to the for-profit yahoos you hired even if they are friends of your Nazi wife.
Sly sold us out.
He must go.
Resign now.
Leave a check for the 15,000 that went missing under your tenure.
2/22/13, 9:16 PM
When there is 3" of snow there is too little and when there is 11" of snow there is too much.
If these fraudsters followed the same rules as private business, they would have lost their homes and been taken to prison by now.
We will have snow packed roads under new snowfall which will make the residential areas even worse soon.
Funk Wins
The conservative wonder Martin Augustine just told all of KC that the are idiots on Channel 9.
Just because there is snow pack on your street does not mean that some contract fucker has not plowed it, according to Martin the Superstitious.
We all might be too stupid to be able to tell if someone plowed the roads when we were not looking, even though -- according to Martin the Ouiji Board Believer -- these contract trucks do not run at night, so it is not likely that we were sleeping when they went by.
And, of course, because Martin thinks we are too stupid to see ruts in the snow that do not usually happen after a street has been plowed we all might have been confused, instead of him being confused.
It was not a care free highway.
I think MoDot deserves some blame here too.
Fix it Jay.
You Republican scumbag.
Let's see. 6400 miles of road. What is the size of KCMO's snow plow fleet? Say, 100 vehicles? That's 64 miles to plow per vehicle. If a vehicle can drive at average speed of say, 10 miles per hour, that means every street can be plowed in 6.4 hours. That would be just under 4 passes per lane mile in each 24 hour period.
Just doing quick and dirty calculations, seems like there should be plenty of time to get the streets plowed.
I have the home and cell phone numbers of the Mayor, every member of council and the senior city staff.
If the residential streets have not been cleared to my liking by 4:00 PM tomorrow, I will start posting names and numbers on this blog.
Just so those lazy fuckers understand: I am picky and vindictive.
Think I will not do it? Try me.
Hey, 8:11- You want to defend this cluster fuck! Do your own fucking homework.
North River I watched as a snow plow went up and down a side street twice within 30 minutes that had already been cleared of any snow. Yet I live in Midtown one block of Main and in the 13 years I have been in this house a city plow has never been down our street.
Sly's Cell Phone number on the net. That could be interesting.
Channel 9 is not with the public when it comes to the KCMO plowing policy.
10:55, you must be high. You are assuming that the city has 100 plows, which I don't think they do. You aren't allowing for plows getting stuck, plows that break, trucks that break down, routes that are impeded by parked or stuck cars or car wrecks, refueling, the fact a plow driver doesn't and can't drive a 24-hour shift, multiple passes required to get one clear lane, etc.
11:00, I dare ya.
I heard the city had 200 plows. Regardless, this is Friday night the roads should be plowed and drivable. What do the cities do that get real snow like this often do? Those cities don't fall apart and shut everything down for 48 hours. The most snow in the metro area was 13". Get real wimps.
Your calculations assume that each plow is perfectly distributed across the city. They're not. Its not as if all 100 just put a blade down and picked a unique route, unduplicated by all other plows. Many routes have to travel over other routes so there is significant duplication.
Sly is a liar and a fraud.and what about our gutless Council who is silent in all of this. Sly good job.
I understand the problems with an 11 inch snow fall, but KCMO can't even effectively take care of a 2 inch one. Even during a small snow, the main streets in S KC remain snow packed or ice covered.
As far as contract workers, I say hire them and fire the city employees, many of whom have very bad work habits. At least a contractor can be fired if they don't do their job. Oh wait, that would mean that those union fellas would lost their jobs. Can't have that. The politicians need the patronage.
The contracts granted to for-profit plow companies are patronage just the same. And the city does not fire them when the contractors decide to take care of all their commercial clients' parking lot clearing needs before they start working on residential streets.
At this point, even if they plow, they will only be polishing the ice mat that has started to form on most streets from people driving on the snow. The only effective treatments now would be sand and or the old cinders that not only provided some traction but also darkened the roads which absorbed heat from the sun.
11:58, let me explain to you what happens in cities that get more snow.
First, they budget a lot more for snow removal, knowing that they are going to get several like this in a season, rather than in KC where you maybe get one every two to five years.
Second, they work round the clock to keep the major arterials open, then try to make one pass on side streets within 36 hours. Just like in KC.
Third -- and this is huge -- residents are smart enough to stay inside knowing that there is a very high chance of getting stuck and stranded. This saves lots of time in towing vehicles off highways and arterials that are blocking the plows.
And they are patient enough to allow the plows to do their work without whining that they haven't completely cleared their side street yet.
As noted before, NO CITY HAS EVERY INCH OF SIDE STREETS COMPLETELY CLEARED DOWN TO THE PAVEMENT AFTER A MAJOR SNOW STORM. NONE!
And people living north of here would have a good belly laugh listening to the whiners here.
11:26- The 10:55 post admitted up front that the calculations were "quick and dirty". Why be such an ass? Unless it's just your nature.
So 7:43. The Mayor, Council and Manager, who control the City budget, failed to provide adequate resources for snow removal. Second, please provide the source of your 36 hour assertion. When I checked the snow removal policies of our regional "peer" cities, I couldn't 't find anything about the 36 hour clearance window. Finally, Kansas City is a car based town. There are no viable public transportation alternatives for getting around. And for most of the working world (except in that privileged and rarified air that is the 29th floor), your choices are to show up, use paid time off (vacation time), or lose pay. Maybe you should initiate discussions with your pals at the CoC to see if they would help craft a reasonable inclimate weather plan to help their employees stay off the streets when there is a major snow event.
Yeah, City Hall likes to tout the Midwest work ethic when trying to attract businesses to town. But when that work ethic causes workers to try to get to work when they really shouldn't, the politicos' apologists call them idiots.
I am not sure what some people want. One day after a huge storm life went back to normal. Traffic was great. If you want your side streets plowed, band together and hire someone! This way you know it will get done. Where are these problem areas?
There you go, 9:39. I appreciate the admission that when it comes to snow removal in the residential areas, the City fails.
Name me the city that completely clears every residential street within 24 hours after a major snowfall.
You can't, so why don't you admit that you have no idea what you are babbling about.
You just want to bitch at somebody for every little inconvenience that falls your way.
Right, 9:27. Blame City Hall for the fact that you have such a shitty job that you get docked for not coming in during a blizzard.
FYI, the city will spend some $2 million on this storm alone, and that includes towing the cars of numbnuts like you who were too stupid to stay home so the plows you bitch about could do their work.
How much more should the city have budgeted?
To highlight what a stupid set of assumptions they are. The quick and dirty assessment of your comment is that you rode the short bus to school.
Plows have been by my house up north 3 times today, salting and plowing. Road is clearer faster than it has been in the past 5 years. So say what you want, but there's been a big improvement.
Now the trash, that's another story. They were supposed to come on Thursday. Shit is piling up. Now I got an email today saying that it would be a "normal pickup" sometime next week. WTF? So they get to skip a week and I have to pay extra to get my last week's trash picked up?
I don't blame the city for this, but the rules are shit.
I really doubt the city will charge extra to pick up a third or fourth bag of trash next week if they missed you the week before.
I also pretty much expect that those guys will we working Sunday. Can you imagine what it's like to trudge through all this snow to pick up trash bags? Good grief, it's probably taking them 10 times longer.
As noted, the trash truck came by at 8 a.m. or so. On a Sunday. Remember also that pickup was already delayed a day by President's Day.
We normally have Friday pickup. Getting it picked up just one day later than scheduled isn't bad.
Hey Democracy, 11:00 on 2/22, you said you had everyone's phone number to post, and you were dared to post them. Time to put up or shut up.
By the way, pinheads at 10:55 and 11:58 on 2/22, the City has about 60 plows. And 11:26, 1:00 am and 7:43 am all understand plowing and make valid points. Try to learn them before you have a stroke when tomorrow's storm hits.
No trash pickup today either, Sunday. Suck.
No major city in America plows residential streets, you fucking rubes.
