The reasoning . . . Boy Scouts were once at the forefront of challenging racial discrimination within their ranks and as a part of their code of conduct - A challenge to LGBT Discrimination is argued by some as the next logical step.
This week the Mayor continued his stance in favor gun control and now takes on LGBT discrimination . . . I'm not sure how this plays outside the corridor but it's a bold statement.

Hundreds pack community forum on homicides
Lowynta Riley came to the forum to find out what she could do to help. She believes more programs are needed to help youths, especially those without homes.
“The kids are suffering,” she said. “My sister is an educator, and she said there are a lot of kids who stay after school every day because they don’t have anywhere else to go.”
A woman Riley knows allows a teen to sleep on her front porch. She doesn’t trust him enough to bring him inside, but she wants him to have some protection.

Could Sly please shut his mouth and worry about KC issues? We elected him mayor, not prime minister. So maybe someone needs to tell this guy what his job is. He can't seem to figure it out. He's worrying about assault weapons, which yes, while they need to be banned, have little to do with KC's homicides.

I can remember when women were not allowed in scouts. It was a sad day when that barrier went down. Now he wants the scouts to allow LGBT in. Nothing against the organization. I think the organization is making huge gains for their people. I think certain things should be left alone.

It looks like the Left has finally broken the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) position against admitting homosexual members and homosexual leaders. I saw one headline that read: “The Boy Scouts Widen Their Position on Gay Members.” I do not know if the humor in that line was intentional or not and if it is not intentional, then there is more proof that journalists today no long know how to write; however, that is a topic for another time. This change of policy by the BSA will probably destroy it. Many scout troops are sponsored by churches and use church facilities for meetings and many churches have already announced that they would not support this change in BSA policy. This will probably result in the BSA splitting into the two groups: one homosexual friendly and the other more religiously and conservatively in position.
Acceptance of homosexuals as both members and leaders in the BSA is a big victory for the Left and for the homosexual and pedophilia advocates such as NAMBLA. For pedophiles, this is their equivalent of establishing a Normandy beach head (really no pun intended) where they can recruit members and I do not buy this argument that one is born that way or that homosexuals do not recruit. There is a high percentage of homosexual who have been at one time as a child or adolescent been either abused sexually or exposed to sexuality at a very early age. If one is “born this way” then there would be a wide variety of behavior, life styles and personality types among homosexuals. Even homosexuals admit that there is such a thing as “Gaydar” where they can tell another homosexual no matter how much the person hides it.
