Here is the letter I just emailed to my rep. in Jeff City:
I know there is a lot of political nonsense flailing around Washington, as usual. Now this dis-order has spread to my home-state of Missouri. With regards to this idiotic bill introduced to criminalize some model of rifle, I want you to vote against this bill in every way shape and form available. We are not stupid. We know what is going on in Washington and in Jeff City.
We shoot muskrats and coyotes here in Missouri. We are outdoorsmen here. We hunt, shoot, fish, camp, canoe, and hike around here. There is nothing evil about modern, ergonomic rifles. To assert so is ridiculous. We are normal people, not politicians making hay via a “crisis” in the way of Rahm Emanuel, Pelosi, Feinstein, and others of this radical Democrat ilk.
Please crush this silly bill and don't indulge yourself in a moment’s fantasy that you or any politician will politically survive any attack on our heritage or our freedom; especially any back-door attack on "scary-looking" rifles.
Yeah, lets make sure we all turn in our guns.

This bill would have banned my little .22 my father bought for me in 1968. Bills written by those who know nothing about guns.

I always paid my taxes, no criminal history whatsoever, give blood every 56 days, give to charity and you want to make me a felon for not turning in my 35 year old squirrel gun my dad gave me before he died. And by the way are you willing to pay me cash for the value of the firearm? It doesn't take much to be an elected official.
