Launch KC And More "Silicon Prairie" Hype

Kansas City tech buzz words and biz promises start this morning in local video . . .

Let's not forget about Mayor Sly's efforts to spark local Internets biz . . . Check out the highly touted Launch KC.com.

About . . .

"Launch KC is a KC, MO strategic initiative designed to attract and develop IT entrepreneurs and professionals to the thriving information technology community in the Crossroads Arts District and throughout greater Downtown Kansas City, Missouri. "This is where IT start-ups take off," said Mayor James. Launch KC was conceived this year through public-private collaboration on the Mayor's Bi-State Innovation Task Force and developed under the leadership of the Mayor's office, the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Kansas City and the Downtown Council (DTC) of Kansas City."

Sounds great but like most online biz . . . It doesn't have a real word biz plan and FAILS to take into account that piracy, diminished attention spans and hateration dominate the Internets.

Still . .. The online clip is cool . . .

Silicon Prairie Land Rush: The Tech Boom in the Crossroads - The Local Show

Youtube Detail:

"While tech companies have been popping up all across the metro, there's a noticeable cluster developing in the vicinity of Downtown and the Crossroads. We (The Local Show) take(s) you inside three tech startups, to show you more of what "the scene" looks like these days."

And if none of this leads to Internets employment . . . Always remember that TKC is giving blog lessons starting at $250 or $599 for all of the employees that the Kansas City Star fired.
