Kansas City Faux Flame Honors Phony War

"A landmark visible for decades on the Kansas City nightscape is to return tonight with the relighting of the "flame" atop the Liberty Memorial."

On the bright side that means less tax money and donated funds up in smoke to mark the "War To End All Wars" but didn't and was basically fought for reasons that most of the of the people who died in the conflict never understood and seem silly in retrospect i.e. The Kaiser wasn't coming to take anyone's cheese.

Stupidest war in history.

My grandfather was mustard gassed and shot in the guts at Belleau Wood for a fantasy and a trick of fame.

Liberty Memorial is a great landmark for Kansas City, even for those who would diminish those that fought and died in WWI. It is very exciting to have the flame back.
