Word of an intense mainstream media debate made it all the way over to this blog yesterday and it's worth discussing . . .
KANSAS CITY CRIME FIGHTER ALONZO WASHINGTON DEBATED DANA & PARKS RECENTLY AND MANAGED TO SHED A BIT OF LIGHT ON MEDIA DISPARITY AND THE COVERAGE OF LOCAL TRAGEDY!!!
From what I hear it was a lively discussion and drove home the point that mainstream media in Kansas City doesn't really care much about anything that happens East Of Troost.
Still, the show featured Mr. Washington raising awareness about his crime fighting efforts.
Dana & Parks stepped out of their suburban comfort zone for just a bit.
And we all learned a bit more about diversity and seeing things from a different perspective . . . OR . . . It made for entertaining content in between adverts for diet pills.
I listened to part of it. Alonzo did get off message but Dana & Parks were their usual display of low life radio talent. Alonzo should have answered Park's question diretly instead of going into his ghetto diatribe - he could have had Park's against the ropes.
