Kansas City Mayor Sly James came to power by way of promises to rehabilitate the image of this town that was embroiled in one controversy after the next. When Mayor Sly was elected by a comfortable margin Kansas City was eager to move forward after 4 years of deadlock the previous Mayor who was both an incompetent and unconvincing politician.
There is no denying that Mayor Sly has earned his share of PR successes.
However . . .
GIVEN SO MANY RECENT SCANDALS, CRITICS WORRY THAT RAMPANT CITY HALL CORRUPTION THREATENS TO RUIN THE TENURE OF MAYOR SLY JAMES!!!
Examples:
- The Kansas City Blue Cross, Blue Shield Controversy Seems To Demonstrate Corruption Among A Great Many Municipal Employees
- The Missing $15k Is Still Missing Despite Efforts To Sweep The Controversy Under The Rug
- And At The End Of The Day, The Toy Train Represents A Corruption Of Kansas City Democracy And The Epitome Of A "Win At All Costs" Mentality Championed By This Mayor Behind The Scenes.
And while none of these local tragedies can are a direct result of Mayor Sly's actions, they all happened on his watch.
There's a pattern here . . . When Mayor Sly was faced with uncomfortable questions about his son's antics he quickly lashed out and refused to take any blame. Similarly, these TRAGIC FAILURES at City Hall might not be the Mayor's fault, but they are his responsibility.
And while Mayor Sly James has done a good job capitalizing on local success, his effectiveness during the second part of his tenure might depend on providing leadership amid Kansas City setbacks and confronting tough questions similar to those that he has so far avoided.

I hate Sly James. He fucks the public on a consistent basis. KCMO's sewers are crumbling, water mains are breaking, most of the infrastructure was put in around the 1920's, and that stupid son of a bitch is talking about money for a fucking 2 mile train!!! 100's of millions of dollars!!! Why aren't people doing something about this piece of shit and the city council who goes along with him? You can barely see the road striping on all of the city streets, and he talks about a train?
