TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS WARN OF MORE CONSEQUENCES AND INDICTMENTS IN CITY HALL INSURANCE SCAM COMING SOON!!!

Kansas City insiders are sending out a reminder about even more upcoming disgrace for City Hall.

Remember that recent insurance scam allegations brought the feds and arrests to 12th & Oak.

Seven Public Employees Arrested in Insurance Fraud Scheme

And now . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS ARE SAYING THAT NO LESS THAN 80 TO 100 EMPLOYEES COULD BE IMPLICATED AS THIS SCANDAL GROWS!!!

Word from a KC INSIDER sent our way . . .

"I know the insurance scandal is going to get bigger--the folks who were indicted are the just the tip of the iceberg . . . Expect another busload of people being dragged away from City Hall sometime in the very near future. They might have to bring another bus."

And so the corruption watch under the current Mayor and Council expands.

On the bright side, counting the growing number of indictments gives us a way to pass the time while Kansas City also waits to count the missing $15k.

DEVELOPING . . .

  2. How did this go on so long without someone in the BCBS catching on? Does any branch of government look at insurance company operations?

I agree that the scumbags at City Hall should go to prison, but it seems like a few people at the insurance company should join them. And whatever lazy public official is charged with supervising insurance companies should at least lose their job and pension.

  4. The costs of insurance is divided into actual expenditures to health care providers, administrative costs, and programs to help increase the overall health of the members in that system. BC/BS is a non-profit agency and only administers a health care group. The money used for the cards that were sent to members for increasing their fitness and health comes out of members' and the city funds. Each person that cheated the system not only stole from the public, but from the other members of the system that did not steal. The funds stolen will be passed onto members, and the public, in the form of increased premiums. The city should fire each and every person found to have benefited from the theft of those funds. The Mayor and City Manager should be held accountable if they don't support the termination of the criminals employed by them.

We expect them to protect our funds, and the honest employees expect them to help reduce costs. The Mayor has yet to comment on the thefts, and the local press has given them a pass on this issue. There is little wonder why the KCPD has refused to join a city insurance that is artificially increased because of a dishonest workforce.

  5. There are some very rich executives pulling cash out of that "non-profit" everyday -- and didn't they convert to a for-profit enterprise a few years back anyway?

Follow the money. There are people at the Blue Cross who had to be in on the racket. They should go to jail too.

  6. Of course they make large salaries. I may, or may not, agree with the salaries...but they do run the single largest network in the state, and one of the largest in the country (well over a million clients). They would not benefit from some theft in Kansas City, but they should come down hard on the city for failing to police their own people. BC/BS is still a not for profit organization.

  7. Where is Yael and the rest the Opinion staff on this issue? They have carried the banner for the city to envelope other agencies and have consistently tried to sell the benefits of this system. Why hasn't the Star reported this, or called for an investigation? They should be embarrassed and apologize to KCPD and other organizations for being cautious.

You know as I sit here looking down upon you all I have noticed that if one stares towards what they call Kansas City Mo it so looks like a giant toilet bowl.

Maybe thats why most who live there are either not worth a shit or full of shit.

I think they were referring to demutualization, which is different than what they described. Still, the new entity operates pretty much like a cartel, and a small number of execs seem to haul a lot of money out of the place that could be used to pay claims.

  10. Yael is fucking his pet goat. Barb and Mary are watching. Diuguid is trying to figure out why this is the white mans fault. McClanahan is trying to figure out if the taxpayers are subsidizing it.

  11. A little reason would be nice1/6/13, 10:38 AM

It does seem that someone inside the insurance company had to be in on it in order to approve credit for a 1 year old running multiple marathons and endurance races. That did not "just happen."

  14. I agree with earlier posters who have pointed out that certain members of the Star owe a public apology to the KCPD and other agencies who refused to join the City health care trust. The publicly abused the police force for the better part of a year for not joining this scheme, now it looks like the police commanders were right all along. It's time for the Star to admit they were wrong!

Additionally, it makes me wonder if anyone is going to look into the involvement of the police board members who pushes so hard for the police to join the city health trust? Did any of them do business with the company that manages the city health trust, or BC/BS? Did any of them stand to benefit directly from the merger? If so, they too should be indicted for corruption.

  15. Wonder if the investigation will finally lead to the PD and the illegals at the CAN center. I heard it finally might. Been a joke for a long time.

  16. Angela Wasson Hunt publicly stated that the Kansas City Health Care Trust executive is her personal and professional insurance agent She has been caught at his office and not only publicly rebuked police officials for dragging their feet, but also voted to join the trust. More to come on this wonderful lady.

She's on the BOPC she can tell the lousy KCPD to their face. Not to mention the BOPC swept the "Capital Grille" incident under the carpet, she has little room to talk or point fingers.

  18. Josh Garry is contracted by the city of Kansas City, and his salary is over 300,000 a year.

Here is what BOPC member Angeela Wasson Hunt said about Josh...and then voted FOR the insurance.

Minutes of Board Business Session, November 12, 2010
    5
Commissioner McInerney advised that he and the Board are also very interested in seeing that the retirees are treated fairly with regard to health insurance premiums.
Barbara Stewart stated that the KCPD had premium increases of 1% in 2009 and 2.5% in 2010.
In the interest of full disclosure, Commission Wasson-Hunt advised that Mr. Garry is a customer at Lawson Bank where she is employed. Mr. Garry’s company also writes her family’s personal property insurance.
Commissioner Wasson-Hunt stressed that the City and the KCPD need to find a way to work out the health insurance issues, and requested that this be an agenda item for each meeting of the Board.

  24. rumor is around the quicktrips that "Jabba" may have finally got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. This time I guess his hand has gotten so fat that he can't get it out of the jar this time and may be fucked. We also heard the new major (name matches with the retired chief) is praying for him on his Facebook page. Lots of love to the command staff!

  25. If anyone is praying for that racist criminal, they should be praying that he gets fired in order to restore some measure of respectability to the police department.
