Kansas City budget shortfalls and concern over City Hall finances have insiders worried about the economic integrity of local government in 2013.

However, THE MOST KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS have provided a bit of insight regarding talk of impending layoffs.

Here's a bit of perceptive about what could be a rather contentious process . . .

"Hey TKC, you talk about upcoming layoffs at City Hall but you might not be aware that the Union has done its best to protect as many employes as possible which will insure that residents don't lose out on important services."

To this, another AWESOME TKC TIPSTER responds . . .

"Mayor and Council caved to Local 500 with a very shameful agreement. So I guess we're talking about a middle-management firing spree. If they did it right and got rid of the dead wood, it might not be such a bad thing."

Accordingly . . .

CHECK IT OUT: THE MOST AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS HAVE SHARED THE FINER POINTS OF THE RECENT CITY HALL LOCAL 500 AGREEMENT WITH US!!!

Here's part of a communique that KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS have intercepted . . .

"The recently negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the City and Local 500 has been approved by the Mayor and City Council and became effective Sunday, December 23, 2012. Once the agreement has been signed by the appropriate City and Union representatives, the agreement will be distributed to and “update training sessions” will be held with all supervisors and managers . . . "

Now, most of this is really just boring personnel stuff but when it comes to upcoming firings, check the most interesting passages . . .

Here's who City Hall addresses upcoming layoffs . . .

Best of all . . .

TAKE A LOOK AT A BIT OF CITY HALL LOCAL 500 PROTECTION AGAINST UPCOMING LAYOFFS!!!

Given that outsourcing is always an unpopular political option. This MOU highlight almost seems like a trump card.

And so . . . As City Hall finances get squeezed in 2013 and politicos look for places to cut . . . The race is on at City Hall to find protection from layoffs and it seems that Local 500 is ahead of the curve . . . For now.

Public-sector unions should be dismantled and outlawed nationwide. They are a taxation upon taxation.

The captioned quote near the beginning of this TKC post should read:

"Hey TKC, you talk about upcoming layoffs at City Hall but you might not be aware that the Union has done its best to screw the taxpayers as much as possible which will insure that residents don't lose out on having lazy-ass people on the payroll whether they are doing any work or not. Certainly, this keeps the lazy dolts employed and reduces the amount of important services paid for by taxpayer dollars from being delivered."

So you hate weekends, vacation time, the 40 hour work week, job safety, and a livable wage? Duly noted.

I like the provision in the union contract that pays a bonus to members for scamming the health insurance gift card system - because, you know, those "hard-working union members" deserve all the gravy they can steal, just like their union bosses do.

If it were not for Unions we'd be working for $7.50 a day with no benefits.

Republicans would love this.

I am not Union lover, but I understand the lower level employees getting sick and tired of senior management not being able to manage a budget, which results in RIF's at the lower levels of the organization.

Hire more dep. city managers.

Unions were a hell of a lot better when the mob was running them. Bring back the good old days.

You union haters just keep working in your cubicles for less than minium wage. Collective bargaining is the only way to go

"Mayor and Council caved to Local 500 with a very shameful agreement."

They idiots know what time it is. It's re-election time. They don't want any problems in getting endorsements this year. If I were the local 500, I'd take the contract and withhold the endorsments just because it came to this. If it wasn't an re-election fast approaching, the union would have gotten a lump of coal.

Kick the unions to the curb.

Why is anyone bitching about the union here? Who the hell do you think signed this deal? THE CITY. THEY AGREED TO THE CONTRACT. Hating a union for asking for job protections is like hating McDonalds because they deep fry food.

Wake up people.

RIF all those involved with the stealing from Blue Cross Blue Shield. All 100+

If there are to be loyoffs, why has the city been hiring folks like it's black friday at Walmart? Including three department deputy directors?

6:40, couldn't agree more. Every single person who cheated on the BCBS gift card scam should be fired, no matter what the amount of the theft.

There is rumored to be more than 100 people, mostly Local 500 members. Can their asses now!
