TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! HIGH TIMES FOR KANSAS CITY SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER!!! GUNNAR HAND TOOK A WEED CHARGE NOT SO LONG AGO AND NOW HIS WIFE WORKS FOR MAYOR SLY!!!

History always has a way of influencing current events in Kansas City given that this town never forgets anything.

To wit . . .

LAST NIGHT THE MOST KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS REVEALED THE HIGH TIMES OF SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER GUNNAR HAND!!! IT SEEMS THAT MR. HAND TOOK A WEED CHARGE NOT SO LONG AGO AND NOW HIS WIFE IS A NEW HIRE IN MAYOR SLY'S OFFICE DESPITE A SO-CALLED CITY HALL HIRING FREEZE!!!

First, let's deal with Mr. Hand's weed history because it's hilarious and completely unreported by The Kansas City Star despite their "kind" endorsement of this School Board Member.

Here we go . . .

Feel free to check TKC research starting with this case . . .

10LF-CR01069 - ST V GUNNAR HAUSER HAND

Charges you'll find:

Possession Of Up To 35 Grams Marijuana { Misdemeanor A RSMo: 195.202 }

Unlawful Use Of Drug Paraphernalia { Misdemeanor A RSMo: 195.233 }

Apparently, Mr. Hand had a bit of trouble on the road and wasn't able to "keep truckin'" on the HIGHway . . .

Arresting Agency: MO HP TROOP A - LEE'S SUMMIT

Of course because white dudes never go to jail for their drug charges . . . The sentence was suspended.

Now, how did we match up this info with Kansas City Public School Board Member Gunnar Hand?

Obviously, there aren't a lot of guys named Gunnar in Kansas City but we required more precision than that . . .

AND SO, A SIMPLE DOMAIN NAME CHECK FOUND MR. HAND'S CAMPAIGN WEBSITE REGISTERED TO THE SAME ADDRESS AS THE WEED CASE!!!

Brief aside . . . It's funny how the dude's website has a bright green banner.

But I digress . . .

I don't want to put the guy's address on blast but here are redacted websites to further prove our work . . .

66th St. is pretty big street so it's not like I'm giving directions to his house. Still, all of this info is public via Casenet and any simple domain checking site. TKC FUN FACT - All interested parties should grab a screen cap because this info will get wiped from Casenet in just a few days.

And so . . .

SHAME ON THE KANSAS CITY STAR FOR ENDORSING A CANDIDATE FOR SCHOOL BOARD WITHOUT EVEN TELLING READERS THAT HE HAD TAKEN A DRUG CHARGE AND HIS RECORD INCLUDES SUPERVISED PROBATION AND A SUSPENDED SENTENCE!!!

More . . .

SO THERE'S YOUR GREAT WHITE HOPE TO SAVE THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WALDO AND BROOKSIDE!!!

Thinking . . .

SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER GUNNAR HAND MIGHT HAVE BEEN HIGH BUT HE WAS NEVER A MIGHTY GOOD CANDIDATE TO TURN THE KCPS AROUND!!!

As of late, the KCPS is fighting to save their district in Jeff City once again and it might be worth Missouri Education officials noting that one of the School Board members took a drug charge but still seems to be buzzed about the future of our schools.

In case anybody was wondering . . .

YES, I'M GONNA RUN ALL OF MY WEED JOKES INTO THE GROUND AT THE EXPENSE OF GUNNAR HAND!!!

Now . . . On to the high times of Mrs. Hand - A recent hire of Kansas City Mayor Sly . . .

This message came our way last night:

"Ashley Z. Hand, new Chief Innovation Officer in Mayor's Office. Wife of Gunnar Hand, member of KCMO School Board. I guess there is a "hard freeze" on hiring except for the Mayor's Office apparently."

So, it's not a big stretch to suggest: "The Hand Clan" is close with Mayor Sly.

Of course, there's always the possibility that this isn't part of political alliance with Mayor Sly who still entertains notions of garnering influence on the School Board; she might have earned the job by her own merits and skill.

ARE YOU STONED?!?!

What THE MOST KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS have revealed here is that the sordid history of one School Board Member now connects with Mayor Sly playing by his own rules at City Hall despite the economic suffering of workers.

These are high times for Mayor Sly and his political allies like Gunnar Hand and wife given that none of them have to answer tough questions or seem to feel at all accountable to the last remaining voters in Kansas City.

DEVELOPING . . .

Comments

  1. Was the star wrong for not telling us?

    Maybe.

    But consider this Tony:

People change and Gunnar has a great deal he can contribute.

If you really want the best for KC. Maybe you should give this guy a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Since it should be legal, nothing to get too upset about.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Agree with the Zzzzzzzz guy on this one.

    ReplyDelete
  4. If he were black you people would call for his resignation.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Are you people crazy? He needs to resign or be forced out of office.

How can you justify a man who has a problem with drugs being in charge of the education of our children?

  6. Sly Gave Hand a Job?1/24/13, 7:32 AM

Let's not forget that Hand is a buddy of the despised turncoat Jeremy Lefaver. Which puts him in the Crystal Williams coven.

Has his wife undergone drug testing as terms of her employment?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Now we know where the 15K went.

If he just got popped once and isn't a chronic offender, he will shotgun his way to the top.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Maybe he should work for COMBAT.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Mr. Hand: What are you, people? On dope?

Gunnar Hand:Yes! As a matter of fact we are.

    Mr. Hand:
Am I hallucinating here? Just what in the hell do you think you're doing?

Gunnar Hand: All I need are some tasty snacks, a cool buzz, attend a KCPS meeting or two and I'm fine.

    ReplyDelete
  10. How much you wanna bet that he was tokin' the light fantastic on Crystal William's back porch with the hated turncoat Jeremy in recent history.

    Mr. Tony,
Now this is a funny story, but don't go wading into the tall grass.
Gunnar Hand seems like a genuine and nice person. A little dopey perhaps. His wife got herself a job? with Sly? How nice for KJ. Kid now has a couple he can hang out with and be all bad.

Riding that train, high on cocaine...oops, make that weed

    ReplyDelete
  17. Sounds like Crystal Williams is being told keep her sperm filled mouth shut at the legislative meeting on Monday, if the name Cathy Jolly (friend of Senator Holsman) comes up.

"I used to smoke marijuana. But I'll tell you something: I would only smoke it in the late evening. Oh, occasionally the early evening, but usually the late evening - or the mid-evening. Just the early evening, mid-evening and late evening. Occasionally, early afternoon, early mid-afternoon, or perhaps the late-mid-afternoon. Cathy Jolly, now there is a name that you would think might be for a fun time but first you would have to be drunk as well as stoned out of your mind to wanna party with that and only if she was sharing that primo smoke she likes so well.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wish I liked the shit.

I've tried, but it just sucks.

The next day I am all lethargic and spaced out.

Most of my friends smoke like fuckin chimneys. They all keep jobs, nice families etc etc and they are sure as hell not as grouchy as I am.

I hate the shit, gives me headaches and makes me even grouchier.

But, it should be legal, too many people smoke it to enforce a ban against it, without criminalizing a gigantic porportion of the population.

    Legalize it like booze.

I have NEVER seen anyone get into a fight or punch their wife on pot.

    ReplyDelete
  26. How did his wife get this position as chief innovation officer. She's not from here from what I can find, most of her experience is in L.A.

She doesn't even have a proven track record. Very strange.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I used to smoke weed. I still do, but I used to too.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 1/24/13, 8:07 AM I bet Cathy Jolly turns the lights off, does not move and never makes a sound. She would be afraid she was messing up her hair. Her idea of a BJ would be a quick close of the lips around your penis, then a rough fast handjob using the index finger and thumb being careful to move to the side so that "none of that" gets on her 1950s style 4 piece nightgown set. Se still thinks of herself as that 10 year old dancer with the forced smile.

  36. As the latest from the St Louis Fed shows, as of the just completed quarter, US GDP "growth" since the "recovery" is now the worst in US history, having just dipped below the heretofore lowest on record.

Did Gunnar really think the public wouldnt find out , or just wouldnt care? Says alot if you ask me.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yeah, where does Gunnar get off!?! He should just keep sitting in his (mom's) basement eating snack cakes and watching soft porn, instead of proactively trying to come up with solutions that might make the lives of our city's kids better.

  46. Gunnar Hand is expected at an open community meeting tonight at Border Star in Brookside for a Kansas City School Board Public meeting. The meeting is scheduled from 6:00-7:30 and the purpose is to discuss the future of the KCMOSD public education system. Gunnar is to facilitate this meeting and collect community comments, ideas and concerns. I wonder if he will still plan on facilitating this meeting?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Gunnar Hand, a graduate of the Univ. Colorado-Boulder (party school, hippies, pot) is a regular pot smoker? I'm shocked....NOT!!!!

Seriously though, if it's illegal and he's on the school board, what message does that send to the youth?

  74. There was a 35 question questionnaire from the Star required for a Star endorsement. I guess the Star doesn't ask, have you ever used drugs or been arrested?

    ReplyDelete
  75. There is a thread with over 100 comments from this past Sunday re: kcps/waldo/walmart Check it out. Great info.

Everything kcps does creates drama. Not fair to the families, teachers and students of this district.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Why didn't he disclose this stuff?

Obviously someone running for public office isn't going to publicize an arrest for drug possession in their advertising and marketing campaign.

But it's still outright lying and concealing the truth. How do you trust someone like that?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yes, they create extraordinary drama. It would be ideal if the Board would start to really examine the shortcomings of this district to which they share responsibility for. While the lesson for Gunnar is to recognize that he should lead by example and model the behavior and expectations we would have for these students, it is apparent that this was not what he intended to do. Given his inability to just be honest about this conviction (which I don't find reason to personally judge him on), this makes it that much easier to question his credibility and dedication to the KCMOSD students.

    ReplyDelete
  78. "If it grows from the ground, it's probably okay."

  81. Airick will probably be the one to answer the serious questions tonight from parents and the media.

    ReplyDelete
  82. The Star Questionnaire is long and exceedingly poorly executed. That questionnaire has been known to ask state officials whether they would repeal federal acts. Outside of the morons in the Republican leadership, and apparently Jason Noble, knows that state legislators cannot repeal federal legislation. That example should provide a measure of how bad The Star's candidate questionnaire is.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Anyone going there tonight to ask, I understand you were arrested for drug possession, and didn't mention anything about it to the public. Whats up with that?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Did Holsman really unleash this as payback against Crystal for the Cathy Jolly thing yesterday?

Someone knows, and someone will talk.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Whats up with it is he would never have gotten into the position he is in if he had disclosed this 1:00. People would have basically written him off as nuts.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I am planning on attending the meeting but do not expect that Gunnar will be in attendance at this point. As one individual has keenly suggested, Airick will be the likely individual to respond to the public comments and concerns. I suspect a prepared statement is being written regarding Gunnar's conviction especially given it was a suspended imposition of sentence and his probation was completed prior to joining the Board.

    ReplyDelete

  114. Hand can smoke pot, drink the bong water, whatever. But I don't want someone who is on probation for that to be on my school board looking out for my kids and in charge of the teachers, administration and the budget.

  128. ITS OFFICIAL> THE EAGLE SCOUT BROUGHT WEED AND NACHO DORITOS for everyone in attendance. Even Aarick smoked a bit!

  129. PLEASE DO NOT get me started on ALW.

He is no role model; the way he treats women puts him in the gutter category.

I would take a weed head over that loser ANYday.

  130. Gunnar showed up late.

  131. In all seriousness, while I don't think smoking MJ is a serious offense, it remains illegal. More importantly everyday we tell our students that they should not participate in these types of activities. My concern is that having a board member guilty of recent, illegal drug use sends the message that the rules apply to some, but not everyone. As a school board member, he will participate in the suspension/expulsion of children for the very same activity that he apparently engages in. This concerns me.

  132. 11:04, you conveyed my same concerns in a very articulate manner. If you are serving supervised probation for one drug charge and another drug-related charge, perhaps you should complete your sentence/probation before running for office, especially school board. It sends a totally hypocritical message and kids are very much affected by hypocrites. Watch how they respond to the "do as I say, not as I do" style of parenting and discipline. And how can parents take Hand seriously?

More importantly, how can the state?

Mr. Hand has done an enormous disservice to the KCPSD. He should resign and quickly.

  133. 12:12, couldn't agree more, and this will cast a pall over his wife's new position as well.

  134. Last night was fairly well controlled. There were several board members present and while Gunnar showed up late, he had assistance from Airick West when needed and another individual who indicated that a parent's concerns were going off topic when she asked about Superintendent Greene going to Jefferson City, which the audience was clapping over because they were very poignant questions- but certainly posed a challenge for Gunnar. There were several breakout sessions that attendees could participate in and Gunnar had a 'scribe' to write down 'big vision' ideas related to leadership, parental involvement, student achievement, and community involvement. While accountability came up and Gunnar had listed this under leadership, he failed to recognize that this includes him. He seemed to switch the topic from the Board to DESE to Greene and then fall back on being new and engaged more in community involvment and city planning.
The concept of accountability just escapes him completely.

  135. 12:33 This issue was not specifically addressed at all last night? Board stays losing..major fail. I guess they will just ignore it until it goes away.

  136. That is accurate 1:44. It was not addressed whatsoever.

  137. You suck Tony. This kind of shit happens to everyone. For all we know it could have happened ages ago. People change. Look at a lot of the presidents of the United States, lots of them have smoked pot! And they are the leaders of the free world. Get a life Tony. For all you know Mr. Hand could end up being president someday and you will still be writing this shitty blog.

People saying he should resign is bull! He has not even been able to do much with the school board yet. Give the poor guy a chance. Its not like he put the school district in this position in the first place. Obviously if he got voted in people want him there!

  138. 3:54, careful of your blood pressure. Now lets destroy your comment one piece at a time.
Obviously Gunnar Hand's arrest, guilty plea and probation did not happen "ages ago" as he has not yet completed his two years of supervised probation.
Presidents have smoked pot or claim they didn't inhale, but can you name one who was elected while in probation for a drug bust? I didn't think so.
Hand should resign. He ran for the board without disclosing his criminal record and probationary status. Had he disclosed it, he very likely would have lost the election. People voted in a product under false pretenses.
12:33, who attended the meeting and observed Hand, said Hand has no concept of accountability. While he might not have put the school district in its current predicament, Hand's drug bust, method of handling it, and way of behaving publicly suggest he is ill prepared to help the district.

Frankly, the voters in the district got screwed. They need to hand Mr. Hand his walking papers.
