SOUTH KANSAS CITY SUSPECTED WEED DEALER KILLED ID'd TODAY
A sad follow-up to a Kansas City killing last night . . . Dead Tree Media notes a drug connection . . .
Kansas City police today identified a man killed in apparent drug deal in his home Tuesday night as Brandon J. Sloan, 28.
The report . . .
"On Tuesday, Jan 8, 2013, at approximately 6:30pm, officers were called to a residence in the 8900 blk of Blue Ridge Blvd in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a shooting victim (w/m mid 20's) inside the residence with no signs of life. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victims roommate stated he was in the house when the shooting occurred and observed two suspects (b/m's early 20's) flee the scene in an unknown model white car. The homicide appears to be drug related. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816.474.8477."

And this instance of a suspected drug dealer killed in Kansas City might seem typical but certainly reveals that demographic stereotypes don't always match reality.

Was it "blunt" force trauma? Or, was he "lit" up with a gun? Article said a couple of guys "rolled" him.

Brandon was the first person to befriend me when I moved to midtown 3 and a half years ago. He was such a kind hearted and generous person who only wanted the best for everyone he knew. He never even had a bad thing to say about anyone. Its not fair that something like this happened to him. I just wish he'd never moved out there to the ruskin area. He just wanted a backyard so he could BBQ and for his beloved dog to be able to run around. It makes me sick how people can put such a negative light because of weed. He was the VICTIM OF PIECE OF SHIT ROBBERS. We'll miss you Brandon! R.I.P.
