Despite a great deal of spin at City Hall today . . . The reality is that the CORRUPT, WRONGHEADED AND DAMAGING decision to combine ambulance service with the Fire Department is still having negative consequences for this city: Numbers released Wednesday show moderate improvements in the Kansas City Fire Department’s emergency response time. However, the city still lags behind the national average.

Um, the article says response times are down. Sorry shrieking frothy lipped howlers and disgruntled MAST and I-34 admins, you should be the last people to cry about cooking books, if the FD used the MAST formula for reponse times, aka, not inlcuding any run times IN RAIN, SNOW, or IN THE DARK, KCFD would be already be performing as well as MAST, but with pensions and raises for their hard-working employees.
Sorry you lost your cushy admin job or your I34 e-board spot. Time for you to move on.
The whole ambulance system is a total joke. My insurance didn't cover my child's ambulance ride to children's mercy, so i was making payments on the bill as the city requested. Every payment was on time, but since i hadn't paid off the whole thing as quickly as they had hoped, they sent it to collection. f/off mast!
Get ready to bend over some more KC. The FD is training these half-assed medics (Intermediates) to staff ambulances instead of Paramedics. They will be poorly trained, inexperienced and a huge liability, but they won't let that stop them...This is a system in crisis and no one in this City will admit that they screwed the pooch...
