LIKE IT OR NOT, SPORTING KC DID THE RIGHT THING BY DUMPING SHAMED LIVESTRONG!!!
Lance Armstrong and his charity are now the subject of shame and scorn but there's a bright spot in all of this . . .
WHEN NO OTHER SIGNIFICANT SPORTS NEWSIE OR PUNDIT IN KANSAS CITY DARED SPEAK UP . . . THE TKC BLOG COMMUNITY CALLED OUT LANCE ARMSTRONG'S SHAMEFUL LEGACY AND STOOD AGAINST NAMING RIGHTS HYPOCRISY!!!
And for this fact I've awarded denizens of this blog our own yellow jersey . . .
Seriously, there were more than a few of you urging us on in this debate and supplying a steady helping of links and perspective . . . Congrats to all of you who kept the fire and saw this thing through till the end.

The complex will also now be called ‘Sporting Park’, which also takes effect immediately, CEO Robb Heineman said.
In the end, this controversy revealed the cowardly nature of Kansas City media along with an overall resistance to change among cowtown residents.
As the decision grew more imminent it was clear that fanboys and few misguided folks were willing to throw cancer victims under the bus in order to defend a fallen idol. Thankfully, Kansas City's soccer team was able to see through the hypocritical arguments, realize that neither taxpayer cash nor the goodwill of their fanbase should be spent to rehab Armstrong's image and ultimately SPORTING KC DID THE RIGHT THING.
As the (somewhat fearless) leader of the TKC Blog Community I want to thank and congratulate Sporting KC and I was thinking that I might even watch a game or two next season.
