KMBZ tests the gun show loophole theory
The premise and what Mr. Grady proved is that with $390, a person can walk into a gun show and purchase a large caliber semi automatic rifle and no background check required.
Bottom Line Communications notes the controversy and negative reaction to the story from gun rights activists and gun dealers.
Still, knee-jerk gun reaction outrage doesn't change the facts of Mr. Grady's report. I might not get an answer on this one . . .
BUT WHY THE RAGE AGAINST A REPORTER DOING 1ST PERSON INVESTIGATION AND CITING PROOF OF HIS WORK?!?!
On this one, gun advocates lose . . . Because I trust Bill Grady and so have MILLIONS of listeners over the years.
Again, we see this gun debate falling back into the same old rituals and rhetorical devices that mark every discussion following one mass shooting after the next.

Juat like the law about selling cars. Many have no idea how that works either.
Hell fix it so only dealers can do gun shows like I really care then this issue would be moot. To much insanity over this issue and so far not seen one damn thing done that will really have any bearing on it all.

40% of gun sales don't have background checks (which have proven effective at stopping illegal gun sales). The proposal is to close that loophole and require a check on all sales, including person to person (gun shows for example). It's not rocket science, and it shouldn't be controversial, even to my fellow gun owners. The only reason it is controversial is because of dipshits like the NRA and half of the posters on TKC. They make all gun owners look stupid.

ReplyDeleteOne of the arguments the Left makes against the Second Amendment is that the Founding Fathers did not mean for the average citizen to own an M16. The Left either lies about history or is ignorant of history. The rifled musket, known as the Kentucky Rifle, was the M16 of its day. The Kentucky Rifle gave the American Colonists the same technological advantage over the British that the RPG was for the Afghanis against the Soviet Union. The Founding Fathers did mean for the average citizen to have a M16 to protect themselves someday against the government. It looks like our present time is the day these wise men foresaw. Of course the Left tells us the Founding Fathers were a bunch of evil white men. The Left lies.

ReplyDeleteWhat the local yokal media is failing to say is that it is in fact a felony to sell a gun to a convicted felon with or without background check. So again, there are already laws to prevent the illegal sale - hence no real loophole. Instead of more crap laws just enforce the ones already written to prevent illegal sales. When are these damn wannabe reporters gonna get the facts right?
