is it a sign of recession or a sign that people will pay more for hipster outfits (that look worthless) than for suits?

Didn't see that coming! Not. It wouldn't surprise me if the entire Plaza shut down. It's coming especially when you consider that Footlocker has moved in there.

is it a sign of recession or overpriced products in an upscale shopping area with high rents and no value? People want value today. They shop at Walmart because the overhead (buildings, real estate, wages) are cheap.

I don't like that their employers are being screwed, but yes, I do look for lowest price, within reason. I'll pay an extra couple bucks to pay them reasonably, yes. Or TEN if my clothes aren't made by $5 a day Chinese children.

But just to pay some real estate magnate in Mission Hills higher rent on the Plaza? No.
