Area used to be nice? You mean before it was full of "people of color?" You can say that about everywhere this happens to. White people leave and the place turns to shit. Like an old-timer I know says, "they make paint peel and grass die." It's too bad because there are some nice homes near there by the KC Museum but good people simply can't keep up the good fight and stay around. Are they supposed to send their kids to NE High School? Anybody who can afford to leave does.

I remember swimming there as a kid in the sixties. Nothing but poor working class folks having a good time. I thought I was in heaven.

You are correct, however it is not the fault of the district officers who patrol those streets. Unfortunately for them they have a command staff who tries to lead from the rear, and a Chief who is completely inept.
