Without a peep from Kansas City mainstream media . . . Like it or not, this is a major victory for the youngest member of the City Council:
Kansas City Councilman Jermaine Reed via Facebook: "KCMO Council votes to fund Green Impact Zone. $550,000.00 will go to the Zone to continue efforts to revitalize the Urban Core."
Meanwhile . . . The project isn't as popular in the 3rd District as stereotypes would lead those out of the loop to believe BUT the financing victory (at taxpayer expense) should buy the Council dude a seat at the table in Washington D.C. for his ability to deliver major league financing mostly under the radar.

ReplyDeleteWhat the money will go to is paying anita Maltbia and the rest of the overpaid staff who do not administer the actual programs (weatherization, etc.) but simply do PR for how wonderful the program has been.

He wasted a lot of political capital on the council washing this money for the GIZ and Cleaver, all while screwing over his true constituents, residents of the 3rd District.
