CLAY CHASTAIN'S KANSAS CITY ULTIMATUM
Clay Chastain could realistically recall a few Council people but it's unlikely he'll turn up in the 3rd District in order to do so. Remember that more than a few Kansas City Council members were put in office with just a few thousand votes.
Recalling Mayor Sly or Council Dude Jim Glover is unrealistic. Tens of thousands of people voted for those guys and any recall effort against them would take dozens of people AT MINIMUM.
But we're not really talking about logistics . . . Clay Chastain's recent statements are clearly intended to send a message to Mayor and Council regarding the state of local Democracy.

Clay Chastain has always been a polarizing figure in local politics but before readers dismiss his concern about local Democracy it's important to realize that he has accumulated more grassroots contact with the voting public regarding transit issues than any other local figure. Clay's work in collecting thousands upon thousands of signatures has sought to include the voting public in his efforts for better or worse. Meanwhile Mayor and City Council have been more concerned with devising special voting districts to subvert the citywide voting process.
