Like it or not, the effort to take away guns earns high praise in an allegedly "Conservative" Red State:
Kansas gun prosecutions ranked 3rd in nation
Of course the mostly federal effort is bolstered by hopes that getting rid of guns will reduce crime by disarming criminals:
"Federal prosecutors in Kansas filed gun-related charges against 447 people last year, up nearly 85 percent from the average of the four previous years. Firearms prosecutions nationwide remained relatively flat during that time, with 11,728 defendants charged last year."
Vigilant readers will scroll down on this article and note that a focus on gun shows is also a part of this crackdown as holding a firearm moves closer to becoming a privilege and not a right.

actually you are exactly wrong. Kansas perused felons with firearm charges and other federal violations, thus the high ranking. Those werent legal gun owners but federal criminals. Um ,sort of like illegal immigrants.

Good old Kansas. Where a 65 year old man who was once convicted (at the age of 18) of the misdemeanor of slapping his girlfriend may never, ever have a gun, but a felony conviction for being the head of a multi million dollar ponzi scheme allows the felon to own all the guns he wants.
