Sadly, Councilman Brooks has stopped answering questions on any topic concerning Kansas City's missing $15k that we're gonna need going into what seems to be a tough upcoming year for local finances.

ReplyDeleteWhy are you giving the city manager a free pass? He have away 15K without checking anything. A simply phone call by him could have stopped this. How many other times has this happened and no one knows. How much money has he given away to his friends, and how much is kicked back to him? This is what needs to be answered.

See how easy this money became lost somewhere? Now just think how much other money has been paid out just like this, that was never used as it was suppose to be used or lead to beleive it would be used. Once they start the toy train to building payouts and pay offs like this will be a dime a dozen.

ReplyDeleteCheck the City's housing department for BIG payouts, cutbacks and all types of financial tricks to ensure friends and hangers-on never pay the taxpayer back. Housing is where the taxpayer really gets ripped. The City attorneys are in on the heist.

The folks involved in the Beacon Hill scandal are still near the trough moonlighting as housing experts (wink-wink)!

Good one 3:51. And it's called doing the right thing, integrity, honesty, or professional ethics. Any of these would be fine. My 14 year old neighbor can simply respond to heavy handed council people.

ReplyDeleteThere hasn't been any explanation of why Michael Brooks demanded the $15k from the city manager to give to Ron Hunt, and there won't be one, at least coming from Brooks. Such an explanation would cause Brooks great personal embarrassment. The best thing for Brooks to do would be to step down from his council seat. Others have already advised him to do so. But Brooks arrogance knows no bounds, so him doing the right thing is likely not going to happen.
