A quick glimpse @ Lucy Collett is just one of many tributes and a visual metaphor for the outpouring of gratitude that I have for this blog community this year.
Like every other year, TKC saw more traffic, participation and good times in 2012 then in previous years.
And generally, this blog was just gully and proved influential in more than a few Kansas City breaking news events and local political scenarios.

I was at Target trying to buy some candy. I little something for my sweetheart. I got the candy, took it to the register. Walked out without paying a cent. Byron, happy new year to you as well. In the spirit of a new year and new beginnings, I'm copying and pasting a comment I found to you under a post that I think is very helpful:

Disabled people work, hold jobs at all levels, make various amounts of money and are often successful. Many, unlike you, do not rely on government handouts. They are STILL disabled. Being capable does not make their disability go away. It just means these people are industrious, creative individuals with strength, courage and perseverance.
You have a lot to learn Byron. Rather than sit at home and comment on a blog about issues in a city that doesn't concern you, why don't you focus on improving your life, attitude and life skills so that you can find gainful employment and quit taking government handouts? Rather than name call, why don't you channel your energies into self improvement? If you like KCMO so much, read up on some of our disabled citizens who have a list of civic and career accomplishments; you might learn something.
You don't have to sit at home and earn nothing and take from the government. You have choices. Exert some energy. Focus less on the Chucks of the world, which you can't change, and more on yourself, which you can."

This is a blog on the 'world wide web'. Pretending that's its in Kansas City, is one of your problems (parochialism). Instead of telling me to go away, you should tell Tony to block my IP. Its his blog. The issues discussed here are national & global. As I've said many times I don't need anyone else's blessing, or permission, to comment on a blog that the owner has repeatedly invited me to comment on. (It makes you look stupid.) You Rethuglicans want this to be a red neck, racist blog, but I think the owner welcomes a more diverse range of opinions. If you don't like my liberal politics then argue the issues. Attacking the messenger makes you look weak. I am not the only liberal in the country. Trying to keep liberals off of this blog is not freedom, its just bullying. I will do as I wish, not what anonymous people tell me to do.
After Obama and the rest of the traitors erase what is left of the Constitution and Bill Of Rights, people like Byron will be on the short list to be euthanized. Look to the history of tyrants for the way in which "non-producers" are dealt with.

A person by your terms in a wheelchair is disabled if their legs don't work but many people in wheelchairs have jobs as greeters all over the United States.
But what can one expect from a guy named Byron who is fucking the government for a pay check and who as well lives with neighbors such as those The Wild And Wonderful Whites of West Virginia: pill popping, murders, and tap dancing - what do these all have in common?

Disabled does not mean unable to work. It means that you are unable to perform one or more major life functions without assistance (and sometimes with). But that goes not mean unable to perform meaningful and gainful work. Many disabled people do just that. They are strong and courageous. They have rights assured to them by the government so that they CAN hold jobs.
Sorry Byron, you lose this argument. Get a job. Or admit you don't want to work. But don't use bad eyesight as an excuse not to.
