TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! CELEBRATE THE UPCOMING KANSAS CITY OBAMAVILLE COMING TO THE WESTSIDE AND CROSSROADS AREA VERY SOON!!!

A quick check online will reveal that Kansas City Downtown real estate prices are dropping despite the so-called housing recovery that's really more of a dead cat bounce.

But after a triumphant reelection by Prez Obama there's excitement about bringing a big government project within walking distance of the finest Crossroads art galleries, restaurants and the new Toy Train.

To wit . . .

LAST NIGHT MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE GATHERED TO DISCUSS THE KANSAS CITY OBAMAVILLE THAT'S SOON TO MAKE THE CROSSROADS EVEN MORE LIVELY!!!

Public housing is usually a touchy subject even in the most "progressive" neighborhoods but from what I heard there is some excitement about the project and only one complaint from a poor dude who is going to get a front row seat to construction for the next 5 years. All the Latina Grandmas sigh: "Pobrecito."

Still . . . Declining property values aside . . . This project pushed by BNIM, City Staff and more than a few neighborhood leaders has a great deal of community support.

Never mind that a project of this scope (Anywhere from $35 to $60 mil) ALWAYS gets off track and becomes something completely different than what's sold to the community . . .

Still . . . This is really a legacy of the FAILED Kansas City Public School District and neighbors hopeful that big government will fix a problem that it created in the first place.

TKC wants to stress: There aren't really any "bad guys" in this situation (except for me) . . . There are only people too polite to say that the current public housing enclave on the Westside is home to most of the dangerous cross-neighborhood traffic that most lament and there's also a strong suspicion that a recent string of break-ins were "inspired" by this Westside Public Housing model.

But what do I know?

MAYBE DROPPING AN EPIC OBAMAVILLE PUBLIC HOUSING PROJECT SO CLOSE TO THE CROSSROADS IS GOING TO WORK OUT GREAT FOR EVERYBODY!!!

Right now residents with little imagination simply see it as a better alternative to the blighted complex dumped on the neighborhood courtesy of the KCPS.

Humanity is doomed by the fact that most people don't realize that things can always get worse.

Anyhoo . . .

TKC HAS OBTAINED THE SECRET PLANS FOR THE OBAMAVILLE THAT'S SOON TO PUT SO MANY LOW INCOME RESIDENTS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE CROSSROADS AND THE NEW DOWNTOWN TOY TRAIN!!!

Take a peek . . .

It looks nice and during the meeting neighborhood residents were reminded the best laid plans of BNIM have helped to save placed like Greensburg and now there's a hope that the good intentions of developers won't have any consequences so close to Kansas City's Downtown area.

DEVELOPING . . .

  1. It's not gonna be that bad. Too much hyperbole. It is a massive project though.

  2. Let's see you do not like rich people rehabing dumps because its Gentrification, and you do not like affordable housing for the working poor, I guess you just want everyone to have housing handed to them by Mom who works for the Federal government -- in housing administration?

I know, I know, there are "Makers," "Takers" and "Snack food eating libertarians who live off their mom without having to understand reality?"

  3. More public housing close to an area with already existing crime problems....of course what could possibly be a bad idea about that? Go ahead and make it a new hot spot chief! Those places will be so crime ridden with in a year of moving people in I can't wait to go to the crossroads and downtown area to get robbed while walking back to my car that got broken into while hearing gun shots in the background. And the best part...."OBAMAVILLE" at least that part will make sense!

  4. looks like prime real estate for an influx of people who grow tired of living in their mud huts south of the border. All the things TKC likes. Just not in his neighborhood. Go figure.

  5. Taking an example from Chicago?

    ReplyDelete
  6. The answer is NOT to continuing building enclaves for NIGGERS and calling it "special housing" or some other lofty title. It will immediately become crime central (always does) and once again, downtown will be undesirable for anyone. No, instead of giving them housing, usher their asses out of the country and back to the fucking jungle.

  7. Obama don’t care who you’re fucking or how you want to consecrate it. Just be responsible and practice safe democracy.

  8. Public affordable housing for the elderly only would to me be a better deal.

Get the young people off their asses and off working would as well be a better deal.

  9. Fear not the official inflation rates will miraculously stay low while we are paying 100% more for gasoline and food.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hahahahaha.....you know Obama Coonville will become murder/crime central! The arts these low lifes bring are 22" spinners, big gold plated teeth, and plastic shiny bling. Kansas City will ALWAYS find a way to fuck something good up!

  11. Just take a look at the low income Courthouse Lofts at 811 Grand or the new apartments at 950 Holmes. Nice places, now completely ruined by low income renters. Crime, smoke filled apartments, drugs, etc. The apartments are completely ruined already.

    1. Maybe in some of the low income units, Security, needs to be a built-in factor. I know there would be a cost factor involved, but the damage offset may actually save dollars in the long run? Maybe I'm being naive?

  12. We could stand more section 8 for the elderly, but the greenspace isn't needed...they rarely leave their apartments. And certainly don't put them near a school. Put them next to an assisted living facility, or a hospital, or an Aldi.

If you're going to allow kids in family centers, put em next to a police patrol station.

    There is the truth.
    Accurate.
BTW, that model works out to be the case - ALWAYS - in ANY city full of freeloaders and illegals.

  14. Are there any families with kids living in crossroads? It seems like more of a plan for singles and couples without kids. Just saying... this doesn't look like the right fit. I am on the outside looking in so I could be wrong but rarely.

  15. It could be useful as housing for broke and disillusioned KCAI graduates, who drank too much Crossroads Kool-Aid.

    ReplyDelete
  16. As the late Charlie Williard would say, "Po' folk gots to live somewhere."

    ReplyDelete
  17. Will they use bullet proof construction materials? Even when provided a path to ownership blacks cannot or will not maintain their real estate. When it comes to cars, clothes, hair and ashy elbows motherfuckers are all over it. Give em a crib and they just shit in it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. For those who aren't familiar with it, the school on the map is unoccupied and has been closed for several years. It's a historic building per-se on the Westside but also kind of an eyesore.

    ReplyDelete
  19. And the dependency-building continues...

what a joke...get up...go to school so you can go to work and provide for your own family. it's called responsibility. get some.

  20. This post and the comments are both very depressing.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The complete lack of respect shown for lower income citizens - treating them as trash and subhuman - is deplorable. You think it's fun or easy being poor? You think people want to be impoverished? It is shameful that people in this day and age, in the United States of America, feel so much vile hatred for those less fortunate. Close to one quarter of American children live in poverty. I suppose they are fucking deadbeat scum to you as well? You people are an embarrassment to your country.

  24. I agree with 1:43, you people are deplorable.

  25. Section 8 absolutely destroys neighborhoods.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1:43, you my friend are very blind. How about you apply to the KC fire or police dept so that you can see firsthand how many low life individuals abuse the system. You must be an Obama loving liberal

    ReplyDelete
  27. Maybe those laze cops at the CAN center will finally have to do some policing. When the wealthy move in, the illegals at the can center will finally have someone to rob.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Let's fix the school before asking poor people to stay in KCMO. A better plan might be to give them subsidizes so they can move to Johnson County and their kids get a decent education.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 3:44 No, asshole, I am a patriotic American that believes our country has too many people that can't find a job. Too many people without a home. Too many children with hunger and malnutrition. The only low life I see is your arrogant ass.

  33. What's really amazing is that you are all probably adults. Its downright stunning, that grown men behave & talk this way. I don't understand this obsession with homosexuality. But, then, I don't understand your hatred of blacks & the poor. The country is moving on, & we will leave you behind.
