  1. Thank god that Freedom Inc., that paragon of virtue, that soul of propriety is standing tall in the face of this abomination.

  2. Check this out, posted from the Daily KOS on June 20 about the treasuerer (clearly a national repub hack), also note that this guy has a law office by/with Jeff Roe:

"Meanwhile, a new Super PAC called "Secure Arizona" is out with a new ad that goes for Republican Jeff Flake's jugular. First, it leads off with footage of Jeff Flake admitting that he "lied" when he pledged to only serve three terms in the House, then poses the ominous question: "What else is Jeff Flake dishonest about?" The spot alleges that Flake flip-flopped on his initial support for the Keystone XL pipeline, ultimately "siding with Obama" and Nancy Pelosi. Size of the buy, though? A miniscule $8K, which apparently buys only 30 rotations on Fox News—in other words, this is yet another glorified video press release.

And who's behind this Super PAC, anyway? Its treasurer is Kansas City, MO attorney James C. Thomas III, a Republican who served on Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon's legislative redistricting panel and is also a dedicated Axis & Allies enthusiast. I guess he must be a Wil Cardon enthusiast, too. (That's Flake's self-funding primary opponent.) (James L)"

  3. Who is really against prop B? How can you say that smoking is good? The vast majority of people who smoke are poor. They have medicaid, food stamps. They get free health care paid for by me, by you. When they smoke, they get smoking related illnesses. Their kids get sick all the time and we pay for them too.

So really, the low cigarette taxes promote easy smoking and then it costs the tax payers even more. It's such an insane argument that it's a bad thing.

Smoking is bad. It costs middle class people a lot of money when poor people drag us down. Rich people, like tobacco companies, cash in while the middle class gets robbed again.

  4. So Freedom stands for cheap Kools? That's killing me. Or, more likely it's killing our community.

  5. I'm against Prop B and I voted NO. Fuck you and your holistic racist ignorant asses! Fuck me paying mire taxes to help raise more red neck white trash hayseeds!

When you put a smoking section on the bus then I'll vote yes. I mean, I must be on the bus, right?

    Stupid dick faced jerk offs!

  8. I voted against prop B because its mostly poor people who smoke and they have little enough money to feed their kids.

Sorry they still smoke, hope they can kick it but it won't be for the cost of the smokes. it's a horrible addiction. i had it for a lot of years. higher cost will just make their lives worse.

We're better off offering anti smoking drugs at lower cost rather than just punishing them further for their bad habit.

  9. Some rogue Freedom Inc. member probably got mad and thought that this was a good idea. Doesn't matter that group isn't persuasive to me or anybody else. It's basically garbage.

  10. who dat be?

  11. Prop B is a nice way of raising more money because more money solves all the world's ills. We can take that more money and make smarter kids (you known they'd be smarter if the schools had more money). It's all about more money. I gotta go and make me some more money so I can spend more money.

  12. Rich people love it when the middle class wages war against the poor.

  13. I voted against Prop B (and I am not "poor") because there is no connection between smoking and schools. Why should one group pay more for schools because they have a habit we find annoying or even unhealthy. If the money were for their health costs to the public then maybe so. But then we need to put an extra tax on booze and Big Macs too.

  14. We tax the poor so we can give them money - minus the cut for the poverty pimps.

  15. I don't smoke and voted no on this one, too. By the way, 10:56, you inbred liberal cretin, a no vote on Prop B does not mean that smoking is good. It means people don't think taxing the hell out of the poor for money that may or probably will not go to the already overfunded and underperforming schools their kids are trapped in is a good idea.

  17. I would have voted for B if the additional funds came IN ADDITION TO existing funding levels for schools. Problem is, the electes will peal off old funding dollars and substitute it with the new smoke dollars.

I am an ex-smoker and hate the habit, but I hate deception even more.

I was at the Bluford branch (a polling place) this morning working with my LiteracyKC student on job applications when I saw the Freedom, Inc. people sitting at the entrance passing out this *literature.* And I bet you fkn dollars to donuts none of the voters there even knew what these fliers were saying.

    Including myself.

  19. When are the residents of the east side going to get tired of being treated like a bunch of helpless uniformed fools who can't get their own information or make up their own minds without the grifters from Freedom Inc. telling them what to do and think?
If you want to find an example of racist contempt for other folks, you couldn't find a better example than this!
