Police say a 2-year-old boy was critically injured in a shooting Friday morning at a house in Kansas City.

"The child – identified as a 2-year-old boy – was rushed by ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital after being hit by a bullet in the back while inside a home. The boy is listed in critical condition, but he was reportedly alert when he was transported to the emergency room."
