An overwritten article basically reports on radio commercials while noting that cigarette tax Prop B opponents liken increased levies on cancer stix to Obamacare.
The misleading strategy offers a nod to conservatives in favor of big tobacco.
Nevertheless, I've noticed that most thoughtful smokers agree that their coffin nails should be taxed to the ceiling in order to help people quit the deadly habit.

All this tax is for are the schools.
They will gain the most out of it passing.
I swear we get taxed to half death and don't really get a damn thing out of it.
Given that there will still be upwards of 30 million uninsured the act seems more an exercise in futility than a solution.
This is a stupid approach by Prop opponents, but I'm still voting against Prop B.
I enjoyed Mary and Yael making clowns out of themselves on Ruckus last night over how outrageous it is that we don't tax smokers more.
Also saw Barb Shelly's column in todays Star in favor of Prop B. She says the funds could be absconded to pay for things other than schools, but since taxpayers will be watching, that shouldn't happen. Yeah. Just like with the casinos.
