Kansas City Mayor Sly's son KJ continues work on this hip-hop career and his latest track makes a bit of social commentary regarding local life and our homicide count.

It's a soulful tune that's a bit of a departure from the party tracks in his first "Barz4Daze" Mixtape.
The track kicks off with this testimony regarding Kansas City life from our Mayor's son.
KJ raps:
"I got that gaze in my eye
as I patiently ride
through this city where homicide
about as common as life.
Lucky Motherfucker, I dodged that twice
Gunshots that popped off on a dark, cold night.
But instead it hit my homie.

The track might be a reference to this incident:
Kansas City Mayor Sly James says his son was a witness to Westport murder
And maybe it's because I dated a Italian broad in another life but I don't know WHO would put themselves at a scene of a deadly shooting and then record a music track that seems to confirm the details.
But I digress . . .

Maybe Sly will at least pay some attention to Kyle. Homicides at the rate of two every week since he was elected don't seem to be enough to get his attention.
