TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! PETITION CALLING FOR KANSAS CITY BISHOP FINN RESIGNATION REACHES MORE THAN 100K SIGNATURES AND COUNTING!!!

Advocates standing against Bishop Finn are still hard at work calling for accountability in the aftermath of The Kansas City Catholic Sex Abuse Scandal.

To wit . . .

TKC TIPSTERS RECENTLY TOLD US THAT THE PETITION URGING BISHOP FINN'S RESIGNATION HAS RECENTLY CROSSED THE 100K SIGNATURE MARK AND CONTINUES TO GARNER SUPPORT!!!

Sources also note that the petition hopes to convince the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops that there is a groundswell of homegrown opposition to the embattled Kansas City area cleric. So, there's a hope that Bishop Finn doesn't resign, the Catholic hierarchy can remove him from his duties according to Church doctrine.

Take a look at the petition for yourself.

Here is the money quote:

"Bishop Robert Finn is head of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. He is also the highest-ranking U.S. Catholic cleric to be convicted in a decades-long child sexual abuse scandal.

"In September of 2012, a judge found Bishop Finn guilty on one misdemeanor charge after he failed to report a priest who had taken or possessed hundreds of pornographic pictures of young girls. Even though Finn was found guilty in a court of law, he remains the Bishop of the Kansas City – St. Joseph Diocese. Now, many members of our community feel he is unfit to lead and should resign. He is currently the highest-ranking U.S. Catholic cleric to be convicted in a decades-long child sexual abuse scandal."

While mainstream media attention has moved on from our Kansas City Catholic Sex Abuse Scandal, it's worth noting that harsh feelings and consequences of the ruckus still linger and influence our local culture.

DEVELOPING . . .

You would think Scott Pioli was running the Catholic Church.

The Pope shoulda pulled that guy back to Rome and outta the spotlight 2 years ago.

Fuckin morons.

The Catholic Church is buying into the "Patriot Way."

I bet Jay Nixon would suck Finn's dick at the Plaza Lighting if Jay could get himself some Rex money.

Ok people lets be real here.

Since when has the Pope or the higher ups in the Catholic church really ever done what the people have wanted?

Out of the millions and millions of Catholic people in the world do you really think the Pope is going to do what just a few one hundred thousand people would like to see done.

If the Pope was to cave to the demands of the local Catholics he would then as well be admiting there is a issue here and is taking a step to fix it.

I doubt I or any of us will ever live long enough to see the Pope admit he has real problems of any kind within the church.

What a big fucking waste of time. Finn ain't going anywhere.
Now, all of you people that don't want him around, stop putting money in the damned collection plate.

Church will never change for anyone. They don't pay attention to congregations and for the most part that is a good thing.

Flies on shit > Finn

I expect most of the people who want him out don't put much if anything in the collection plate anyway. If they even go.

The Church will do whatever it takes to defend itself. Nothing is more important to it than its own existence, just like Penn State or the Boy Scouts.

3:09 PM has it right.

When we ALL STOP giving them money, the Church hierarchy will THEN START to take the issue seriously.

Not until then ... wake up all you "faithful".
