Kansas City's FIRST family undergoes a bit more drama as the weekend starts.
The brother of Kansas City Mayor Sly James pleaded guilty Friday to two domestic assault charges and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Given Mayor Sly's "Hands Off" approach to news about family ties to criminality . . .
Does this hurt his credibility among on the urban core and regarding issues on crime which seem to be reemerging?!?!
The wisdom among Kansas City's political elite is that Mayor Sly's beautiful Sly can win any issue given that HE HAS SCORED TWO TAX INCREASED DURING A RECESSION . . . That's sound logic but I'm not sure if it accounts for neighborhood sentiment.

One of the good reverends is going to run and that will take Sly out of the east side vote which will leave him vulnerable to a decent Northland candidate.
Well from the looks of the family tree it would appear Sly will be charged with something soon.

Get a grip people, our Mayor hasn't talked to his brother in years. I see the point about the son because Sylvester supports him but the brother is an estranged brother and they are not close. Sly has enough on his hands, he doesn't need to be playing baby sitter to a middle-aged man. Let's get real.
I loved him dearly, but my brother did prison time for firebombing and a multitude of other crimes that he was caught for.

I do know, he belonged in prison and died young.

You can pick your friends but you are stuck with your relatives. Many families have that bad seed that they wish would disappear or the kid gone wrong. But that often has everything to do with the person's choices. It's not up to the mayor to control his brother's behavior. He couldn't even if he wanted to. His brother's behavior should have zero impact on our mayor and how people view him.
It's not like he borrowed over a million bucks on a car wash worth 1/5th of that amount and is now refusing to pay it back.

Nobody is calling Obama about his relatives behaving badly... wonder why? This has everything to do with the character of Sly. Let's stop making excuses. Lots of crooks have law licenses.
