Given today's deadly stabbing near a Kansas City park . . . The question is exceptionally apropos but sadly an inquiry that so many suburbanite mainstream newsies aren't willing to make . . . Kudos to SOB Wired more than a bit of insight regarding what passes for news in the metro.

WHEN did the city get so violent???? Well, anyone dumb enough to axe this question should also be dumb enough to see the impact NIGGERS have on life in Kansas City. As long as NIGGERS rule the streets, that's what you get. Enjoy.

There have been two murders every week of the year in KCMO for many years and the city is well along that path for 2012.
And until the elected and appointed people at city hall, the police board and command staff, the prosecutor, and especially the residents of the east side get serious about collaborating to roll up the thugs that terrorize the neighborhoods there, nothing much is going to happen. Ignoring the issue, making believe technology can replace leadership and focused management, and hoping some out-of-town program can save the day, even as all thelocal continue to pay no attention to public safety has never worked and won't now.
But there's no one lobbying for safer neighborhoods at city every day and there is for TIFs, streetcars, contracts, and other projects.
You would hope that the 13 people elected to govern KCMO would make a safe community a very high priority.
And you would be wrong.
I find it completely ironic that Sly was touting KCMO parks today and how great they are only to be followed a few hours later by a murder in a KCMO park
Break the mob and then turn the city over to idiots. How ironic.

If the prosecutors would imprison these thugs when they got arrested in their stolen cars, with their dope, and with their guns the first, second, or third time they are caught, so much of this violence would be prevented.
Its not the police department's fault that this city is so violent. Its the system in its entirety that fails on so many levels.
1:15, america already imprisions more of its people than just about any other country in the world. Does it seem to be helping? If it doesn't work, why double down? Use a little common sense than the stupid AM talk radio line of "lock the bums up". You're free to think for your self anytime.

10:28, I think it's fairly obvious we need more jail space. How is it possible that a 19 year old has 11....ELEVEN felony convictions and is still allowed to breath free air? ELEVEN felony convictions at age 19 is mind blowing, unless you live in Jackson County. I believe you are the one who needs to wake up. If you are thinking this is not the norm, you would also be incorrect. There are literally hundreds more just like him, and they are the 10% committing 90% of the crime.
Dear Mr. Tony: SOB Wired Asks a legitimate question. Washington, DC, with a population that is, depending on how you count the thousands of people who live there full-time but are not legal residents, either 50% or 100% bigger than KCMO, has had 69 homicides so far this year--compared to 83 so far in KCMO. And, race baiters take note, DC is 65% black--so heavily black cities can fight crime effectively. Time for the KCMO political class to start doing something to end the bloodbath in our city rather than spending all of their time and effort trying to dodge the blame for this bloodbath. Take care.
