KCPS "On The Scene With Green" Success?!

A rather smart Kansas City Public School District move earns a nice media spotlight . . .

Superintendent Stephen Green answered some tough questions, and made some promises to parents.

Kansas City Public Schools Superintendent Stephen Green answered questions Sunday about the future of area schools.

Of course there's the hope that the KCPS will regain accreditation. Dr. Green talked about the financial stability of the district and moving funds to impact classrooms: "Dr. Green says that impact is already in place with the district meeting five of the 14 state targets to achieve accreditation."

Talk then turned to uniforms . . . Which doesn't help test scores or student behavior as much as most would like to think.

THERE WAS A BIT OF ACE SCHOOL REASSURANCE AS WELL!!!

Which sadly means that the event was mostly about PR.

  3. These KC Star articles or the endless town hall meetings of the district have been the same for the last 30 years.
It's always about to turn the corner, or see the light at the end of the tunnel, or whatever the latest phrase might be.
But it's always the same people with the same gimme attitudes and the board of education incapable of managing so much as a lemonade stand.
They're all really self-important "players" in a bush league and the kids suffer decade after decade.
    Another generation lost.
