Please thank a police officer the next time you see one, because they have to put up with family drama; and it sometimes gets ugly.
I'm sure it will only be a city assault charge. They don't file state charges against people who assault officers in Jackson County, but they will against someone who punches a bus driver.
Sounds to me like a good reason for a little self defense on the officers part to have made a wet spot in the street with the idiot!

Fight at 17th and Grand? Those were just a couple Star reporters fighting over who was going to get laid off next.
In fact, thsoe are about the only stories about crime and vilence the paper actaully knows much of anything about.
Hope the bad guy got sent to the Hospital before the trip to jail!
Did any of KC's ace reporters manage to determine exactly what "attack" is in this case? I mean did the guy have a nuclear bomb, a knife, a big purse - maybe a fly swatter? When the hell is the local media going to start getting the story?
