Kansas City Star STRONGLY Endorses Jason Kander For Missouri Secretary Of State Office

Thankfully, The Star puts a bit of extra effort into their endorsement of Kansas City's favorite political son - Jason Kander.
Here's the most relevant passage . . .
"The Star strongly recommends Democrat Jason Kander of Kansas City for Missouri secretary of state.
"A lawyer and former Army captain, Kander spent time in Afghanistan investigating suspected government corruption, espionage and drug trafficking.
"He was first elected to the Missouri House in 2008 and has made ethics reform his signature issue, calling for limits on political donations and less influence by lobbyists. Missourians could expect his work as secretary of state to be untainted by politics or favoritism."
After that, it's mostly an attack on Rex Sinquefield and the GOP candidate . . . But the STRONG endorsement segment stood out in a crowded field.

In this red state with the democratic president trailing by up to ten points with two weeks to go. He's going to need all the help he can get.
Some bloggers and others give the Star a hard time for inexplicable reasons.
In this case, the Star has it exactly right. Kander's worth our attention and our votes.
"inexplicable reasons"
Really?
They're an elitist rag that attempts to bend the local agenda to their will while playing judge and jury over everything related to the metro area
I'm glad they got this one right. Kander deserves many endorsements.
But most of the time they're wrong.
Did that former council member endorse him?
Looks like The Star will be enjoying a straight losing ticket this election.
Kander and Diana stay losing. All fluff, no credentials except marketing themselves. Like a political Kim kardashian.
If kanders' job was investigating corruption, espionage, and drug tafficing in Afghanistan, he left without doing much of a job.
Not sure what any of that has to do with being a state secretary of state, but if that's all he's got, give it a shot.
Missouri is going Republican big time on November 6 and the only Dem suvivors will be Nixon and Koster.
Kander can come back to KCMO and join the rest of the pack of self-promoters and hangers-on. Probably a job from Sly.
Which council member are you referring to?
Jeeze that blood type on the boots is a big mistake if he is trying to lure any voters over 40. Don't use service time to self promote.
If Missouri goes Republican, it will get what it deserves. If Romney wins, grandma will move out of the nursing home when she runs out of money and will live with YOU. Your kids will NOT be going to college without grants and federally guaranteed loans. Handicapped kids won't get learning services. More kids in classrooms in gradeschool... more cuts of good programs in schools. More unemployment.
One one day, Mitt says government doens't create jobs, and on the next, he says he'll create 9 million jobs as president. They've had their tax cuts for ten years...where are the jobs?
He's just an ambitious man, not a leader. He guts companies for a living.
We've seen how republicans elected to state governments are cutting services we want, cheat voters their right to vote.
We don't need people who DON"T BELIEVE in government's role to RUN government. They will deliberately not do a good job except to favor big business.
I saw an interesting poster on facebook today.... "Consider yourself a racist if you'll choose a lying white man over a black president."
Will you shut up, Diana?
The Star endorsed Jason because his opponent favors voter id, but so does Jason.
Jason is a good man and I will probably vote for him but I don't believe his stance on voter id for a second.
Diana's disingenuous and dishonorable tactics will sink Jason, who without her, seems like an ok guy.
I think most KC voters in the know feel the same way, right or wrong.
MLK Jr. was a republican.
