Downtown Kansas City Alamo Drafthouse Closed For A Month Of Remodeling

So much for Kansas City working to help downtown biz. This afternoon from the Alamo Drafthouse blog . . . Tim League Founder and CEO writes: "While we always expected the renovations of this magnificent theater to be a gradual process, due to circumstances beyond our control we won't have a certificate of occupancy during the next phase of construction. Therefore, we will close the doors to the Mainstreet beginning today and move forward with the planned renovations . . ."

They promise to be back bigger and better for Nov. 15th but clearly this is a setback and leaves Downtown Kansas City with one less attraction that doesn't hinge on paying $8 for a beer.
