Just like concealed carry this is mostly a non issue. It will have no impact one direction or the other on crime. Most people, including cops never have a need for a gun. On the flip side people who carry guns legally don't commit crimes.
If you don't like guns and legal open carry or concealed carry, just shut your mouths and go about your business. We are not messing with you, so just go do something else.
