More accurately . . . Kansas City STILL hates KC Live.
To wit . . .
CHECK JUST A FEW CRITICISMS REGARDING THE KC LIVE DAY TIME TALK SHOW THAT PERSIST!!!
1. Lack of chemistry . . . The male host has toned down his flamboyance just a tad after OVERWHELMING viewer and critical reaction . . . But now it's very clear that there's not a great dynamic between either hosts and they REALLY don't seem like they like one another.
2. Sponsored Content Kansas City - The show is basically a big commercial.
A Kansas City Media insider who dictates a lot of what locals see recently sent this comment our way . . . Check it:
"Advertorial doesn't work when you're trying to put together quality programming and keep people's watching day after day. Note to Channel 5 as they start their localtainment show this month."
3. Horrible Guests - The KC talent pool isn't very deep in this town and the d-list that runs through Kansas City has never really impressed viewers.
Worst of all . . . A Kansas City media player clowns the group for providing a platform for a low ranking comedian and former 80s sitcom player.
"Kansas City Live was posting about having "Screech" on their show today. I wonder if they know anything about his porn film and other adventures???"
These local daytime shows are the latest trend but it's clear that the KC Live experiment is still struggling to find a niche and Kansas City's media elite aren't impressed.
DEVELOPING . . .
Add the total lack of experience KC broadcasters have in actually producing anything of quality. I am absolutely amazed that the best produced material in this town actually comes from the gang over at the public TV station. Writers, Producers and those Delivering content in the commercial ventures just don't have the maturity or team to play the game. These issues are personified with every broadcast. This crap is just short of being an infomercial and if anyone other than the advertising geeks feel this garbage is appealing to the viewing public I'd suggest they just hang on for the ratings.

ReplyDeleteSadly, I think that's the case. This town has a lot of discrimination and maybe that's the cause of so much hatred among people here.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the problem isn't KC's hatred of gayish people, but him. Maybe he's TOO gayish for hosting a KC TV show. Maybe bringing Paul Lind in for anything but a comedy show is too much, and a bad hire. Maybe his overt mannerisms are distracting.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anything is to be gained by laying a bad hire on the viewers. Show biz is subjective and a permanent host isn't like trying out for the Gong Show. He applied for a difficult job, a lead. Reportedly, he wears his sexuality on his sleeve and he should have toned it down.

ReplyDeleteFrom what I've read on several sites the female co host Michelle isn't being well received either. She has a reputation for being very fake and after watching just one episode it was clear that she isn't genuine at all. She has a fake annoying laugh and is constantly making icky sweet faces and saying annoying fake things like "YIKERS!" This show just needs to go away. NBC made a huge mistake by hiring 2 people that no one knew and no one is interested in getting to know them. Big mistake. Must have been a total complete rookie hiring these clowns. If I had to sit thru another episode I'd need some 100 proof alcohol. Yes- at 10 or 11 am. Whatever time this trainwreck is on.
